In addition, we also get interesting information from various restaurants or cafes with delicious dishes from various cultures and different countries.

This time, I also want to re-participate in the Foodies Be Hive community by sharing my experiences and stories about a restaurant that I visited a few days ago. Last Saturday afternoon, I and my entire nuclear family (father, mother, wife, sister, husband and children) had dinner together and celebrated my mother's birthday. we visited Belawan Seafood Restaurant and it was my first time visiting this restaurant.

Belawan Seafood Restaurant

This restaurant is located at Serma Hanafiah Street Komplek Lantamal I Navy Belawan District – Medan City. This restaurant is behind the Wisma Marina, Belawan Naval Base and is directly managed by the Indonesian Navy cooperative. The location of this restaurant is in the farthest district of my city and is still part of the Belawan port area. The distance from where I live to Belawan Seafood Restaurant is about 25 km, a long distance but toll road access makes it easy for us to get there.

Belawan Seafood Restaurant has a very large parking area, this is very important because almost all visitors come using private cars and come from different districts. In addition, Belawan Seafood Restaurant is the family restaurant of choice for many people to be able to chat with family and also many companies use this restaurant to entertain business partners or investors.

This seafood restaurant has two very important things, first as a restaurant that provides delicious food and dishes, which we will discuss specifically. Second, Belawan Seafood Restaurant also offers comfort for its visitors, tables and chairs are arranged in parallel with a variety of choices, all the seats we choose can directly look at the sea.

Third, Belawan Seafood Restaurant has a very beautiful and instagramable seaside view. The location of the restaurant which is by the sea makes us feel like we are on vacation. From this restaurant, we also saw several Indonesian navy otter ships that were docked. If the weather is clear and it doesn't rain, we can also see the sunset here.

Menu and Ordering System
Belawan Seafood Restaurant is open every day with operating hours 11.00 – 21.30, we can reserve a place at this restaurant during weekdays but on weekends, the restaurant makes a special policy because the visitors are very crowded, there is no reservation so visitors must come directly here faster to get a place or waiting list.

The ordering system at this restaurant is also very simple, the waiter will come to bring the food menu and record what we want to order. We will pay all our bills when we leave the restaurant. There are various food and beverage menus available here, various types of fish with various processing, various seafood such as crab, squid, shrimp, shellfish which we can also choose how to cook and the spices used. For drinks, there are also a variety of fresh fruit juices, soft drinks and refreshing young coconuts.

The prices of the food are indeed more expensive, if we only look at the menu list. However, one portion of the dish can feed 3-4 people so you have to make sure before ordering. We can ask the waiter to take us to the kitchen to check the weight of the fish before it is cooked and served. At that time, we ordered some foods such as grilled grouper, grilled snapper, spicy sauce crab, butter fried shrimp and capcay.

About Taste
All food and beverage orders are made by order so that the freshness and deliciousness is maintained. Our order came in about 25 minutes, indeed longer than usual restaurants but we can relax first and chat while waiting. I tried all the menus that I ordered and ate them of course with rice.

For the grilled fish menu, we ordered grilled snapper and grilled grouper, both of which taste very delicious. The grouper and snapper meat tasted very fresh like new fish and the texture was beef, savory and the taste was very delicious. One of the keys to making the best grilled fish is the freshness of the fish, Belawan Seafood Restaurant is located on the seafront and the port of course makes it easier for them to get fresh fish. The taste of this grilled fish is getting more delicious, especially when combined with grilled spices made from various spices, it makes the taste even more delicious. Don't forget to dip the fish meat with the three choices of spicy souce provided, I like the spicy soy sauce for the grilled fish.

Next, I tried the spicy sauce crab ordered by my wife and sister. I think this crab has a very spicy taste for me. However, this crab meat has a soft and delicious texture, especially if you get a crab that lays eggs, it is very extraordinary.

My mother ordered fried prawns in butter sauce, I also tried a bit of this dish. The prawns are very soft, and very fresh, the composition of the seasoning permeates every part of the shrimp, making the taste even more delicious. The portion of shrimp is also very large and plenty, perfect for eating together with a family like this.

We also ordered some drinks such as coconut orange ice, passion fruit juice, dragon fruit juice, ice tea and warm lemon tea. All cold drinks are separated by the ice cube, we calibrate the ice we want to drink ourselves, and also we get one whole drink. Often, when we order a cold drink, only half is liquid and the other half is ice. However, Belawan Seafood Restaurant makes an excellent way of serving drinks, I think.

We also ordered a portion of capcay, capcay is a Chinese food that uses a variety of vegetables and is stir-fried with oyster sauce. Actually, I ordered flour fried squid but I didn't have time to take a photo because by that time we had already eaten and I was too hungry. All of our orders were devoured, and nothing was left. For the cost of eating these six people at this restaurant, we paid around IDR 970,000 (65.3 USD) which is still reasonable for a beachfront dining experience with delicious and fresh seafood culinary flavors.
