Sukku Coffee and Space - Discover Your Art, Culture, and Tradition With Style

"No coffee, nothing is written. Period." - Nancy Kress

Hello everyone, I'm back again. This time, I want to share my experience when visiting a coffee shop in my city. This coffee shop is very popular in some student communities because it has a strategic location and is very aesthetic. The coffee shop is called Sukku Coffee and Space.

Sukku Coffee and Space is one of the modern coffee shops in Medan City. Sukku Coffee and Space is located at Karya Street no. 99 West Medan Regency – Medan City. The location is very strategic, Sukku Coffee and Space is on the edge of the highway and through heavy traffic due to offices and housing. In addition, this coffee shop is also close to several large campuses in my city and makes it a place for meeting or working on joint assignments.

Sukku is taken from the word "suku" in Indonesian. According to the Big Indonesian Dictionary, "Suku" is a national group of some large nations. Ethnic grouping based on ancestry, habits of life, habits of life, language or ideology. Written at the entrance of this coffee shop, Sukku Coffee Shop wants Sukku as a brand. Brands that value ideology and people's goals come to coffee shops, whether for coffee, to hang out, or to find inspiration. According to the Bugis language, Sukku means perfection. Sukku Coffee and Space hopes to produce the perfect product for every customer who comes to visit.

Coffee Shop Design

Every year, coffee consumption in the community continues to increase. This goes hand in hand with the number of coffee shops growing every year. Of course, old coffee shops already have regular audiences, and how do new coffee shops attract new customers and become customers of their coffee shop? To attract coffee shop visitors, every coffee shop owner must continue to innovate by providing the best service and concept.

When you arrive at Sukku Coffee and Space, you will be greeted with a monochrom gate and you will see a large outdoor space with a very neat and beautiful stone floor. This outdoor space has lots of seating and tables, so we don't need to get a seat. In addition, this coffee shop has terraced chairs like stadium stairs.

Monochrome color consistency and industrial themes have become popular over the past two years. Industrial design is considered to reflect a young and fresh soul. To reduce the impression of monotony, Sukku Coffee Shop and Space planted some plants around the coffee shop and made this place more green and aesthetic, of course.

Next, we look at the indoor section of the Sukku Coffee Shop and Space. The coffee bar is at the front and we can see directly the espresso machine used and the coffee beans used.

The visitors were very busy that afternoon, judging from their appearance and age, they seemed to be dominated by students and several other visitors. Looking at the shape of this coffee shop, it seems that Sukku Coffee Shop and Space is taking the market from 19-30 years old. This is very suitable, because the right marketing strategy is the most important requirement for a coffee shop to last a long time.

The indoor part is very comfortable and smoking is not allowed here. I also see many creative workers working in coffee shops such as graphic design or web designers. A coffee shop should be a place where people can hang out, talk, and work.

My Choice of Coffee

There are various choices of food and drink menus at this coffee shop. For the coffee menu, there are Coffee Dolce, Latte, Palm Sugar Latte, Piccollo, Cappuncho and various other signature menus. For food, there are also fried potatoes, instant noodles, and rice boxes. I came to this coffee shop during the day, I asked for a recommendation from the barista for the most recommended ice coffee menu and often ordered by customers.

I was recommended by the barista to try the palm sugar latte. My order was made quickly, the presence of an espresso machine made ordering coffee easier and faster. My coffee is served in a 22 oz plastic cup. Cold coffee with plastic cups is becoming popular today, it is considered more practical and fast to be carried by every consumer. However, plastic cups have an unfavorable impact on the environment, plastic waste is difficult to decompose and is often disposed of carelessly without being able to be recycled.

I immediately tried the coffee I ordered. My first impression was, why did I only taste the milk and not the coffee and palm sugar? I try to stir this coffee and make all the ingredients mixed perfectly. The result, it turns out to be better and more fit to drink. The palm sugar coffee from Sukku Coffee has the right sweet taste and the slightly bitterness of the espresso makes us fresher after drinking it.

For me, there is nothing more enjoyable than getting a strong coffee and a coffee pot that supports public and community activities.

Every year, coffee consumption in the community continues to increase. This goes hand in hand with the number of coffee shops growing every year.

So is coffee a relatively new drink in your country/city or what's the reason for the increased consumption? For instance, did people used to mainly drink tea or another beverage but gain access to coffee over the past few years/decade(s) due to globalization?

No, Indonesia is one of the largest coffee producing countries in the world. However, 10 years ago coffee was considered the drink of men or old people. Not many, young people and teenagers who drink coffee. Today, coffee is enjoyed by all generations and that makes it even more popular.

This Cafè design is very minimalistic and clean. I like the outdoor space a lot more, though. If I visit it, this would be my seating choice. As for the coffee, I don’t really like sweetened coffee, or with that milk addition. I go straight black, all the time 😁 But really this is a personal opinion and as some people will enjoy a cappuccino better, I’m on the other side. If someone gives me, I won’t refuse it, but I feel that I will never order it myself. 😁

I also like the way this coffee shop keeps it clean and tidy. Cleanliness is very important for a coffee shop or restaurant because it makes visitors feel more comfortable there.

I love all kinds of coffee that is brewed and served. Only time and moment make me choose to drink black coffee or coffee with milk. However, black coffee is a common choice and I always drink it in the morning.

Hello @isdarmady
It seems the designer is keen on a minimalist theme here. The decor says that like nowhere else could. I think even hanging on the walls of that corridor with high Stool seating would give it a bit of warmth and still maintain its minimalist theme.

Otherwise, it seems like a nice place to hangout, with the option of an outdoor seating area.

Thanks for stopping by:)

Yeah, there were some good posts, heh-5.jpg

Helloo @millycf1976
I am very happy, you always take the time to view and provide feedback on my posts.

I think this coffee shop is very unique, because their land is quite wide but still with a minimalist theme.

In the afternoon, many people hang out in the outdoor section and that is a favorite spot at this coffee shop.

It's a nice and cool place. it's just that maybe the quality of the coffee used or the standard of presentation is more concerned.

Coffee always has a beautiful story, both when it is enjoyed and where to enjoy it. Coffee is growing rapidly in Indonesia, with many coffee shops.

A spacious and comfortable place, definitely feel at home enjoying coffee there.

thank you for stopping by @ettydiallova

That's right, there are always stories and memories from a cup of coffee. As one of the largest coffee producers in the world, it is appropriate that the amount of coffee consumption of Indonesians also increases to make farmers more prosperous.

this coffee shop building is really cool. I've seen several minimalist-industrial coffee shop designs, maybe this is the closest.
