Normally, there are three meals that people usually eat. The first meal time is breakfast, which we do in the morning when starting the day. Then lunch, which we do during the day to fill our energy that may have been drained for work and study. Lastly, we have dinner in the evening. Usually, the moment of eating with family often occurs at breakfast and dinner. This rule is not standard, some people like me used to be able to eat five times a day without thinking about health and obesity

However, I did not discuss that. I want to tell my friends about my culinary experience at Medan City – Indonesia. Medan City, the city where I live, grew up and is also looking for life. This is famous as a culinary paradise, especially night food and street food.

Nasi Goreng Gila Ainun Jaya / Ainun Jaya Crazy Fried Rice

Sometimes, at night my wife and I are lazy to cook food. We prefer to buy ready-to-eat food to make it easier for us and also help turn the wheels of the economy of business people in Indonesia, and this is my favorite reason when lobbying my wife to spend money to buy food from restaurants, cafes or other culinary places.

This time, we decided to buy fried rice for the two of us for dinner. I have a favorite fried rice outlet around where I live. The fried rice outlet is called Nasi Goreng Gila Ainun Jaya, which is located at Ring Road Arterial Road no. 63, right beside The Ringroad Futsal Field. The location is very strategic, because it is on the edge of the highway.

Nasi Goreng Gila Ainun Jaya outlet is very simple, because it only uses tents that are arranged and all the utensils and food ingredients to be cooked are on the cart. In addition to providing fried rice, this food outlet also provides fried noodles, fried kwetiau, and also ifu mie, all menu with various choices of toppings and delicacy. I ordered a wrap, “Nasi Goreng Gila” for my dinner.

Super Delicious Food

In Indonesia, we can find fried rice served in various places. Starting from street restaurants, tent stalls and even five-star restaurants or hotels. However, many people argue (and I also agree) that delicious fried rice is always from street food at night, like where I bought this fried rice.

One of the fun parts of buying food at Street Foot or culinary evening, we can see firsthand the cooking process of this fried rice. We like to see the action of this street chef. My order of fried rice was cooked by a very characterful young man. His appearance is similar to that of a punk kid, but when you're cooking, you won't doubt the results.

Anyway, from the selection of the name of this food menu, it sounds a bit strange if it is spoken in English as "Crazy Fried Rice" and why you have to use the word "crazy", it must be a bit of a question for ordinary people. The word "crazy" here does not describe the nature of the business owner or chef who cooks fried rice, they are still normal people. However, many people define the delicacy of the taste of this fried rice with the word "crazy, really delicious" so that this fried rice is also known and popularly sold as crazy fried rice.

It's true, this nasi goreng gila (crazy fried rice) is very delicious and makes me hungry to eat it. It's hard to describe, the point is we will feel delicious and also certainly full. Nasi Goreng Gila, just like other fried rice, is not that much different. Maybe, the difference is only in the spices and toppings. However, the difference between crazy fried rice and ordinary fried rice is the number of toppings used. Crazy fried rice uses toppings such as chicken sausage, meatballs, pieces of fried chicken liver, vegetables etc and makes it very festive for a single fried rice dish.

I almost every week buy this crazy fried rice, and fried rice is probably one of my ten favorite foods. How about friends? Do you also like night food?
