Supporting Friends' Culinary Business - The Food is Delicious and Great
Hello everyone
How are you today ? I hope and pray, we are all always given health and also happiness in living this life. I am also very happy, given the time and opportunity to be able to participate and contribute to the ASEAN Hive Community for my various stories and experiences about this life. It seems, I haven't contributed and participated in this community for a long time and there is no best way to return except by sharing culinary stories.
About two days ago, I saw a instagram post from one of my friends. From that post, I see my friend is currently running a small culinary business at his house. As far as I know, my friend used to work as a national bank in my city. I don't know the reason he stopped, whether personal reasons or being terminated by the company but, I always try to support buying merchandise or products sold by my friends. Especially, if it's a food product.
My friend's culinary business is called Al Madinah Catering, which is a home-cooked food business with Middle Eastern, Arabic or Turkish culinary products. I don't know how my friend came up with the idea to create a Middle East food-style culinary business. However, I am also a fan of middle eastern cuisine and decided to buy and try the products they sell.
My friend offers a bundling package for IDR 100K (6.67 USD), which consists of three food menus namely chicken biryani, roti jala with curried goat, and baklava. He said that these three dishes were the best sellers in his culinary business. The ordering system at Al Madinah Catering uses a made by order system for one day. So, I ordered on Thursday, and the food will be delivered on Friday.
Chicken Biryani
I will start reviewing the first dish from Al Madinah Catering. First, Chicken Biryani, which is a rice dish cooked with spices and then added with meat. Usually, Biryani uses chicken, goat or beef. The rice used for this dish is also special, namely using basmati rice which has a longer shape with a flaky texture.
I love this dish. This Chicken Biryani is very delicious, and according to my taste. The taste of the rice is very good, the aroma of spices is very strong. Moreover, chicken meat is also cook along with the process of cooking rice. The spices from the rice seep perfectly into the chicken. One thing I hate, I can't stop eating it and don't feel full. Because of that, I can't eat biryani every day because it will make me fat.
Roti Jala with Mutton Curry
Next, we will look at the second dish, which is roti jala. This dish is a traditional Malay snack that gets a lot of influence from Indian culinary traditions. In a way, Roti Jala is like a culinary dish that brings together two different cultures.
Roti jala is made from rice flour dough that is cooked to form a dough like a net. The shape of the dough for the net bread is like this, giving the fishermen a net-like shape to catch fish. This dish can be enjoyed both sweet and salty. This time, roti jala is eaten with a delicious goat curry sauce. Nowadays, it's rare to find people selling dishes like this. Roti jala is also my favorite snack choice during Ramadan moments.
Baklava – Typical Turkish Dessert
Lastly, I tried this Baklava from Al Madinah Catering. To be honest, this is my first experience to try this sweet cake. Previously, I never knew or knew the taste of Baklava.
The first time I tasted it, I just realize that this dessert has a very sweet taste. However, I can still enjoy it but not able to finish it all. I think the taste is unique, and not found in some local snacks in my city.
in my opinion, if my friend can maintain the consistency of the taste and the waiter. I thought my friend's culinary business would last a long time. I also hope he will be successful with his culinary business. I am always happy when I see my friends succeed.

I am so curious to taste that chicken biryani especially that it's paired with basmati rice- such a healthy selection.
Hello @sydney27 thank you for stopping by
If you like to eat rice, chicken and dishes that have a strong spice taste. I'm sure, you will like this dish.
Honestly I cannot even tolerate minor spicy foods, so I think I won't be able to enjoy this dish 😂
Thank you very much @brumest and @qurator
It is five in the morning, breakfast isn't yet served. Chicken biryani is one of the food that I am craving to taste too bad we don't have one selling in the local area as it is somehow a prime meal.
Basmati rice I just thought it is just regular rice thank you for pointing it out in your blog.
Too nice of you in supporting and giving your honest feedback to your friend for sure he appreciate this kind of comment as they knew that you enjoyed the dish and with the price of three meals it is already a steal!
Hello @tpkidkai thank you for stopping by and I'm so glad you stopped by my blog.
Besides that, it's one of the fun things for me to see people drooling or hungry when they see my posts. Eating photos can sometimes give other people a feeling of hunger.
Supporting a friend's business is one of our obligations as friends. Moreover, the food he sells is cheap and tastes delicious too.
