Hello Gardeners
How are you today ? I hope and pray, we are all always given health and also happiness in living this life. After one week, I'm back to HiveGarden Community, to share stories about my daily activities in my hydroponic garden. What happens in my hydroponic garden? keep watching my weekly hydroponic journal this time.

Conditions of My Hydroponic Garden

Currently, we are in the middle of January 2023, meaning we are already two weeks past 2023 and time has passed very quickly. I think, one quote in the Qur'an about how humans are at a loss because they cannot use their time properly. Every individual who lives and lives in this world knows, if one second of time that passes will never come back again.

I don't want to waste my time. Since January 1, 2023, I am determined to be a better person and do all things better, including activities in my hydroponic garden. If you can see the photo I uploaded, since October 2022, maybe this is when my hydroponic garden is at its best. About 90% of my Styrofoam media I have planted with seeds and all are growing well. I grow some vegetables such as pakcoy, kale, lettuce, mint leaves and bitter mustard. What is the condition of the vegetables that I plant? I will condition and grow the vegetables in my hydroponic garden one by one.

Mint Leaves Condition in My Hydroponic Garden
For the first time, I invite you to see the condition of mint leaves in my hydroponic garden. Since three years ago, I have been consistently growing and growing mint leaves in my hydroponic garden. I planted 130 pots of mint in a PVC hydroponic installation, and I also made media for sowing mint leaves in my hydroponic garden.

Mint leaves have a very good selling price and very easy maintenance, but we need to be a little careful to get good and optimal mint leaves. The conditions for the mint leaves that I planted grew very well and optimally, all the leaves grew fresh and the green color was very good. I regularly spray hydroponic fertilizer to make the mint leaves in better condition;

One way to get optimal mint leaves is to do the right harvest and not be late. When the mint leaves grow very well, the mint leaves will give off a minty scent which invites caterpillars or insects to eat these mint leaves. Therefore, harvest before the caterpillar attack comes. Because, if it has been attacked by caterpillars, it will be very difficult to clean it.

Condition of Pakcoy in My Hydroponic Garden

Next, I invite you to see the condition of the pakcoy that I planted in my hydroponic garden. I have about 600 pots of pakcoy which I plant in hydroponic styrofoam media. The pakcoy that I planted was about 23 days old after sowing. The conditions for the pakcoy to grow are uniform, fresh and also don't have many disturbances and problems.

One of the signs of pakcoy growing well and optimally is when we look at the conditions of the pakcoy roots. The condition of the roots seems to be growing well, and the condition also looks fresh. Ensuring the availability of water in hydroponic media is also one of the routine activities in hydroponic gardens. If the hydroponic media lacks water, the vegetables we plant will dry out and die.

It's just that there is one classic problem for Pakcoy in my hydroponic garden. During these two planting periods, the pakcoy that I planted always experienced symptoms of leaf discoloration at the age of 20-25 days after sowing. Since a month ago, I have been trying to find out what caused it and analyzed it from the start of the fertilizer, water conditions, even the seeds. However, I haven't found a satisfactory answer yet. Usually, to normalize the color of this pakcoy leaf, I will spray a hydroponic fertilizer solution regularly. We'll see again, how the condition of hydroponic vegetables in the next week.

Condition of Kangkong in My Hydroponic Garden
In this week's planting period, I harvested all the kale that I planted. I harvested it last Monday, and got about 5 kg of kangkong. At that time, the kangkong that I harvested was about 20 days old but because there was demand for vegetables, I couldn't refuse the order.

After harvesting all the kangkong that I have. I moved the kangkong seeds that I had been sowing for five days. I used a hydroponic liquid fertilizer with a concentration of around 800-1000 ppm for the kangkong planting period this time. I see, the kangkong that I planted is growing very fertile and optimal. I also replaced the kangkong seeds with other brands of seed producers to get optimal results.

Conditions of Lettuce in My Hydroponic Garden

Furthermore, I also planted about 300 pots of lettuce in my hydroponic garden. I grow lettuce on the second floor balcony of my house. The lettuce that I planted also grew very well and optimally. Growth is uniform and does not experience symptoms of damage or pest attack. Salada is indeed one of the vegetables that insects and caterpillars don't like, therefore when planting lettuce it is almost certain that it will not be damaged by pests.

Currently, the lettuce I plant is about 13 days old after seeding. For this planting period, I used hydroponic liquid fertilizer with a concentration of 600-700 ppm. I hope to get satisfactory yields for the lettuce planting period this time.

Bitter Mustard Conditions in My Hydroponic Garden
I also grow mustard greens in my hydroponic garden. Bitter mustard is a vegetable that is still of the same type as mustard greens, but has a more bitter taste. My parents really like to consume this vegetable, because of that this vegetable is one of the vegetables that is always grown in my hydroponic garden.

1674023702981.jpg
I grow mustard greens in two hydroponic media. First, I planted 60 pots of bitter mustard in a wall hydroponic installation. The conditions for the vegetables that I planted in this hydroponic medium grew very well and optimally, even though this hydroponic medium lacked sunlight.

1674023703002.jpg
Second, I planted about 48 pots of mustard greens in Styrofoam hydroponic media. I used hydroponic liquid fertilizer with a concentration of around 1200 ppm in this planting period. Conditions for these vegetables to grow very well and optimally. The mustard greens that I planted in Styrofoam media will grow better than the bitter mustard greens which were planted in a PVC installation. Does it need proof? we'll see next week.
