My customers and their Beer

avatar

Life. That's the name of the first beer. Initially, if I see this beer, it wouldn't move me. But now, I have a memory attached to it and I don't think I'll forget in a hurry.

While I was filling in for my girlfriend in a shop, I had this man who frequented the stall right after the first day he met me there. He is a Muslim, so it was always awkward for him to have a beer even in the morning in public.

He knows his religion doesn't permit it but he drinks it regardless. Whenever he visits, he takes a seat and goes inside the store away from public eyes and has a bottle or two for the morning while promising to be back later in the day. And he always does.

The only thing I didn't like about him was how he spent without a care in the world. He didn't seem to be someone who cares about his financial position. He was mostly concerned about earning and spending everything in a swoop.

Heineken. That's the name of the second beer. The story around this one is a bit weird. I had been in the store for a while but no one buys that drink. The price was a bit high, so customers will rather take a different beer. Until one faithful day, I was running errands for my superior, and when I returned I met a young man who requested a seat and a bottle of Heineken.

While he drank, he drew my attention to himself and started a conversation. Then he disclosed he saw me from afar and my body called him to our store. That was... I can't describe it. After I heard that, I made a mental note to not dress the way I did on that faithful day ever again.

Hero. That's the name of the third beer. This particular drink had a regular consumer just like the beer, Life. The difference between this customer and the other one is that he had no reason to hide. He stayed out in the open and gulps his drink while conversing with me about life, books, and his agricultural business. You should know that eventually, he became friends with my Muslim customer, and they often drink together.

This particular guy felt embittered about life in general. He complained about a lot of things and at some point, I was beginning to feel irritated. The reason is I don't completely appreciate someone who complains about almost everything. It always feels as though they can't find anything positive to be grateful for about life. And I couldn't connect or have any mutual grounds with him because of this.

Ps: All images are mine. This week of #BeerSaturday, I like to invite @wrestlingdesires to write a post about beer with min. 3 pics in any language.

I'll try to, thanks for the tag 🙌

It's great that two of your customers connected and hopefully helped each other :)
