On 17th Street in San Cristobal, in a house of old construction where we lived for more than a year when we arrived from the east in 1948, we used to sit and talk after every dinner and watch the boys who came and went in and out in their games with some friends.

One night we were surprised by a curious sound, like pebbles rolling down the hallway, as they collided with each other, we all sharpened our eyes and ears but saw nothing, we fixed our attention on a part of the floor under the wall that separated us from the adjoining house, there was a reddish stone that protruded from the floor and looked like a loin.

— It seems to have crashed here, it's someone playing marbles in the house next door," said the boys, and it continued to sound.

Everyone was curious and wondered who it was.

— No, it's not mice," said Granados, my husband, so that no one would worry about rodents, and the frolicking of the pebbles continued at the same time.

Mrs. Ramona, my neighbor, will answer my questions.I will ask her, I thought, and I visited her the next day.

— Mrs. Ramona, what are you doing around here at night as if you were gathering pebbles after 7 o'clock at night," I said, and Mrs. Ramona, very surprised, said to me.

— What do you mean, aren't they your children with their games of stones or marbles? Precisely at that time I sit down to pray the rosary, my son Nicolas goes out to the street to smoke, and I think, it won't be long before Mrs. Maria's children start playing with their marbles, I finish praying and they are still playing.

— I thought it was here.

— No, I assure you it is not here, there is no one who does that.

— Well, let them continue playing or collecting pebbles, one day they will get tired.

Throughout our stay in that house, the pebbles continued to roll, either gathering or scattering. The sisters of Granados, also neighbors, were very curious and came to listen to them, many theories were woven, they said that their father Mr. Cecilio several times was about to remove that stone that protruded from the floor under the wall, but never could, nor the workers, because it was very hard, there the peaks were broken, maybe it was very big down or surely it hid some mystery, maybe it covered an amphora, could there be money in there? Or antique weapons... I don't know. There remained the stone as a loin with its noise of pebbles that seemed to crash against it.

Buen relato; fantasmal y misterioso. ¡Saludos! @ismaelgranados
