Hello friends of Hive, attending the POBphotocontest, whose theme this week is "Historical" I want to share with you the photographs of an airplane arranged as a tribute to its pilot in a town near my city. I hope you like these two photographs and the story behind this interesting plane.

Hola amigos de Hive, atendiendo al concurso POBphotocontest, cuya temática esta semana es “Histórico” quiero compartir con ustedes las fotografías de un avión dispuesto como homenaje a su piloto en un pueblo cercano a mi ciudad. Espero les gusten estas dos fotografías y la historia detrás de este interesante avión.

This plane piloted by the Venezuelan Air Force second lieutenant José Felipe Chacón Arellano known as Medardo Chacón Arellano and co-pilot sergeant Jesus García fell to the ground in a catastrophic accident on February 1, 1946 when the pilot was flying over his hometown of Borotá, The story goes that the plane was flying very low and passed over Medardo's house, others say that the plane was carrying excessive weight because it was supposedly transporting weapons, however, this last one is a rumor and therefore cannot be certain.

Este avión pilotado por el subteniente de la Fuerza Aérea Venezolana José Felipe Chacón Arellano conocido como Medardo Chacón Arellano y el sargento copiloto Jesus García cayó a tierra en catastrófico accidente ocurrido el 1 de febrero de 1946 cuando el piloto sobrevolaba su pueblo natal de Borotá, cuenta la historia que el avión sobrevolaba sumamente bajo y pasaba rasante sobre la casa de Medardo, otros dicen que el avión cargaba peso excesivo al transportar supuestamente armas, sin embargo, esto último tiene el carácter de rumor por lo que no se puede asegurar.

About Medardo Chacón Arellano it is known that he was born May 27, 1900, in his youth he left his town in search of new opportunities, he entered the Venezuelan Air Force school in the state of Aragua, and obtained in 1930 the degree of mechanic and later enrolled to take a course to become a pilot, and then graduated in 1937 as a pilot with the rank of second lieutenant.

Sobre Medardo Chacón Arellano se sabe que nació 27 de mayo de 1900, en su juventud salió de su pueblo en busca de nuevas oportunidades, ingresó en la escuela de la Fuerza Aérea venezolana en el estado Aragua, y obtuvo en 1930 el grado de mecánico y posteriormente se inscribió para realizar un curso para convertirse en piloto, para luego graduarse en 1937 como piloto con el grado de subteniente.

In 2001 the pilots' park was inaugurated where this aircraft is located, which as I understand is the same as the one in the accident, the model of the aircraft I have not been able to identify, perhaps someone in the know could tell me what type it is.

En el año 2001 se inauguró el parque de los pilotos en donde se encuentran este avión, el cual según entiendo es el mismo del accidente, el modelo del avión no lo he podido identificar, tal vez algún conocedor podría decirme de que tipo es.

I like this photograph very much, as it is the only one I have, portrayed next to this airplane even though I have visited this place many times.

Esta fotografía me gusta mucho, pues es la única que tengo, retratado junto a este avión a pesar de que he visitado muchas veces este lugar.
