Mi amada Austria. (Esp/Eng)

Hola amigos.

Hello friends.

I want to tell you a little bit about Austria, my most loved doe, and yes, she is my favorite, since I have another one, a little one that is her sister Australia, but she is a little bit more hateful than Austria.

She is of Chinchilla breed on her mother's side, and Mariposa on her father's side, the father gene was stronger, and therefore, we have this beautiful doe who is almost 2 years old now.

My life with her has been fantastic, she is very affectionate, I like it when she comes closer so I can pet her head a little bit.

Austria is phenomenal, on many occasions Australia, who is the same age, becomes very hateful and starts to move things around, but Austria arrives, approaches her, and starts to pet her, making her calm down a little bit.

It was a strange thing, because usually, a more experienced caregiver told me that after 3 months they start to fight when they are together, but this is not the case with them.

About 9 months ago, I decided that she should have some offspring, because I wanted to keep her breed, and even more when I knew that her father had died, and this was a purebred rabbit, but he died due to a heart attack.

But she was a first timer, I helped her with the nest, I looked for what was necessary for her to give birth as lightly as possible.

But, being a first timer, she gave birth outside her nest, and therefore, the cold of the night caused all the little ones to die. It was really sad for me, because the least I wanted was that..

image.png

After her birth, I had noticed her a little sad, I guess it affected her a little, however these have the particularity that they are in heat again a few days after they have already given birth.

However, I did not want to bring her back to mate, I was a little afraid, also a little scared because I did not want to lose a birth again.

So this is how I have kept her during all those months to keep her calm.

Unfortunately, a few months ago, in one of the caresses I was giving him on his tummy, I noticed that he had a little ball there. :(

I called a Cuniculturist, and the first impression he had, was that he might have made a bad force when moving, possibly, that is a hernia.

But, every day it has grown a little more, also, I have noticed her a little sad and she has hardly moved like before, I don't know if it's just fatigue or something like that.

I'm thinking of taking her to the vet to rule out anything, but I hope it's not what I'm guessing it is . :(
