Hola, comunidad de #HivePets. ¡Qué gran inicio de fin de semana! Como sabrán, ayer fue el día de nuestros peluditos caninos, y casualmente también fue el cumpleaños de mi mamá.

As you may know, yesterday was our furry canine's day, and coincidentally it was also my mom's birthday.

Me pareció justo hacer este post porque no había tenido la oportunidad de compartirles la historia de nuestro perro Scooby. Él es algo peculiar, sin duda un perro bastante torpe, pero lindo cuando quiere, hahaha.

I thought it was only fair to make this post because I hadn't had the chance to share with you the story of our dog Scooby. He is a bit peculiar, definitely a rather clumsy dog, but cute when he wants to be, hahaha.

Recuerdo que llego a casa hace un año con alrededor de tres meses de nacido. Desperté una mañana y me encontré a mi madre jugando con él. Me extrañó porque había pasado un tiempo desde que habíamos tenido un perro, pero a ella prácticamente le salvó la vida a ese perrito.

I remember he came home a year ago when he was about three months old. I woke up one morning and found my mom playing with him. It was a little bit strange to me because it had been a while since we'd had a dog, but she practically saved that little dog's life.

Scooby antes se llamaba Manchas, ese fue el nombre que le había puesto su antiguo dueño. Vivía en una casa donde habían muchas plantas, y siendo un cachorro que solo quiere jugar, destruyó parte del jardín. Como castigo, su dueño le dio una golpiza (al menos eso nos relató la nieta del señor) y quería deshacerse de él, por lo cual había decidido tirarlo a la calle.

Scooby used to be called Manchas, that was the name his former owner had given him. He lived in a house where there were many plants, and being a puppy who only wants to play, he destroyed part of the garden. As a punishment, his owner gave him a beating (at least that's what his granddaughter told us) and wanted to get rid of him, so he had decided to throw him out in the street.

La niña llegó a nuestra casa y le preguntó a mi mamá que si no quería quedárselo porque ella no tenía corazón para dejarlo abandonado. Mi mamá al verlo le pareció que era muy lindo y que con cuidados sería una gran mascota. Lo consultó conmigo y le dije que estaba bien, que podíamos quedárnoslo.

The little girl came to our house and asked my mom if she didn't want to keep him because she didn't have the heart to leave him abandoned. When my mom saw him she thought he was very cute and with care he would make a great pet. She consulted with me and I told her it was okay, we could keep him.

A mi padrastro también le pareció bien, y él fue quien sugirió ponerle el nombre de Scooby. El peludito al principio tenía miedo, pero con los días se adaptó muy bien con nosotros. Era muy cariñoso y tranquilo. Solo teníamos que tener cuidado de no dejar basura en el piso porque como todo cachorro, se la comía.

My stepfather was also fine with it, and he was the one who suggested naming him Scooby. The little furry guy was scared at first, but as the days went by he adapted very well with us. He was very affectionate and calm. We just had to be careful not to leave any garbage on the floor because like any puppy, he would eat it.

Con el tiempo también nos dimos cuenta de que tenía un leve problema en sus patitas traseras, no parecía tener mucha fuerza, pero siempre se las arreglaba para dar saltos a todos lados. Es un perro muy juguetón, aunque no le gustan los niños pequeños. Supongo que son celos. Corre mucho y come como un pequeño salvaje, pero siempre está atento en casa.

Over time, we also noticed that he had a slight problem with his hind legs, he didn't seem to have much strength, but he always managed to jump everywhere. He is a very playful dog, although he doesn't like small children. I guess it's jealousy. He runs a lot and eats like a little feral, but he is always attentive at home.

Aún no ha tenido la oportunidad de estar con ninguna perrita, pues sus patas traseras no le permiten involucrarse con ninguna. A veces le duelen mucho y tenemos que hacerle masajes para que las mueva. Sin embargo, siempre está lleno de vitalidad.

He has not had the opportunity to be with any female dogs yet, as his hind legs do not allow him to be involved with any. Sometimes they hurt a lot, and we have to massage him to get him to move them. However, he is always full of vitality.

A Scooby lo cuidamos mucho, y queremos que tenga una buena vida. Nos alegra saber que le evitamos vivir en el abandono y que con nosotros halló un hogar.

We take good care of Scooby, and we want him to have a good life. We are happy to know that we saved him from neglect and that he found a home with us.
