The importance of a good relationship between teacher and community (Parents): VOLUNTARY CLEAN UP WITH PARENTS.

(Edited)

Why do teachers need to have a good relationship with parents? Will this help each other and the school itself?

Teachers should have a good foundation with the community aside that the need to build a good foundation inside the school. Why? Because parents have a big role in the education of the students and also the reputation of the school. If teachers have good company with their parents, it will give a great impact on the school which makes the image and the noise of the school better. Teachers also need to get the heart of the parents not only the students.

What to do to have good relations with the parents?

My answer to this question is a mere experience and what I've done in school. So, this is my thought about having a good relationship with the parents or the community.

As a teacher, you MUST make sure you have an anecdotal notes or records about your students not just with your advisory students. Why so? Because not all parents will understand any circumstances about their children inside the school. Some parents will surely raise their voice if they saw why and what happened with their children's grades and may also the behavior. That's why, it's a must for you to be ready through having anecdotal notes so that you can have some proof to show to the parents in case they will ask to see you. Or, if you have something noticed with the student, one of the thing a teacher must do is to visit the parents to tell them what their child was into in the school especially if the student is always absent in the class. The teacher should report to the parents even how far their house maybe.

Make a good foundation of relationship with the parents through being appreciatable in front of them during the PTA meeting. Always see to it that parents will be involved in the meeting and may raise their concern. Also explain what are your plans with your students and the rules also. Let them feel that they also have big role for their students behavior in school. Have you experienced before when you're still a student that everytime your parents were at school for a meeting or voluntary clean up, you feel proud and safe? Because that's what I feel everytime I saw my parents at school. It's like they really supported me at school, and for sure that will be what the students would feel even this generation.

VOLUNTARY CLEAN UP WITH PARENTS.

Last Friday, we had our voluntary clean up in our school. So the parents of my advisory class cleaned up the front, back and inside of the room. We had a lot of talks also regarding about their students. I never thought that it's a good feeling being together with the parents cleaning our classroom. I'm just also glad that the parents of my students were approachable and they also showed respect to me even if I am younger than them. They even asled me how old I am and they said that I am fortunate to have a work at the young age and able to graduate in college. They said they also want their children to graduate and have a degree that's why they do everything just to support their children even how hard life hits them. I am really moved by their word of wisdom, I just hope that all of my students will see how their parents do so much for them because I admit, I have hard headed students and hard to handle but well I am coping up with their behavior.

At work, you need to work not only with your job but also in creating good relationship with peers and everyone in school. It will help you bloom and at the same time learn from them. Truth that in work, there will always be pressure not only with our work but also with our peers (co-workers) but as long that you're focused and doesn't mind with negative vibes and knows how to handle different people's attitude, you will be in good place.

Thank you for reading my post today. That would be all because I'll go to school now to report. See you in my next posts.

Indeed. I surely felt loved and supported by my parents whenever they showed up at the PTA meeting. I even boasted it with my other classmates who approached me in the same way. Boasting was really a thing when your in Elem and High School. 🙈

But, anyhow, having good engagements with everyone around us in any kind of setting is a great thing. Even here in the platform, you need to interact, socialize, make friends, and get involve with the community's events to gain support and make good relations with everyone to thrive. I mean, that's surely a thing which we must do and have.
