Hey Everyone, I hope you are all fine and doing great. This Post is my entry to Weekly Featured Content in the #Hivelearners community. Today's topic to write about is The Ideal Adult Age

Source

I would like to start this post with this beautiful quote

Adulthood is not an age; it's a stage of responsibility and maturity

As Muslims, we have been told that there is no specific age or limit for boys and girls to become adults, there are some conditions which lead us to information that a boy or girl has become adult.

For boys, it happens when he starts to get his pubic hair and the other condition is when he starts to get nocturnal emission, and in Urdu, we say it as Ehtalam, And for girls, it is considered that when they start getting menstruation, they considered as adults.

It all depends on the food we are eating, and the environment we are living in.

In Islam, adult age comes with responsibility, you are considered responsible for the acts you do after becoming an adult. your acts and responsibilities tend to change.

Science after doing research comes up with the numbers which are different for both girls and boys, for boys it is 10-15, this is the period of time when boys become adult and for girls, the age varies which is 8-13 years.

when I look at or study my environment or country, becoming mature is completely different than becoming adult, rather it refers to the different experiences happening around us.

Let me give you an example, Suppose there is a boy or girl, who is living a happy life and suddenly his mother or father has died. now this is the situation/experience, which will convert their childhood to being responsible and this thing will make them mature at a very young age, I have seen kids who are just 8 years old and they act mature way more than the man in his young age.

And I have seen boys who are in their 30s and they act like they are kids, their foolish childhood behaviour makes me think that, they are the ones who are responsible for the bad things happening around us, they are not serious with their life.

Your family's financial condition is the other reason that has a direct influence on you getting mature at a very early age, if you are born into a rich family, that has a lot of money and you are enjoying life on your father's money, you will think like a responsible/mature man/women, you are born with Golden spoon in your mouth and it acts like a delayed process for you get maturity.

On the other hand, if you are born into a poor family and your family is having a financial struggle, and your father is not earning enough to feed your family, you will start thinking that, you should do something to support your father from childhood. It will make you mature very early.

This is what is currently happening in the society/country I am living in.

Thanks for reading.

In my country there are 12-year-old children who support their family, since they do not have a father to support them, and there are people over 40 years old with many economic resources inherited from their relatives who behave like 10-year-old children. I believe that the experiences we live and family values make us mature before we become adults. There are very irresponsible adults and children who, when faced with necessity, grow up before their time, assume responsibilities and are therefore more mature.

I salute to that 12 year old boy who is supporting his family at such young age, he is a responsible person, that is why he is taking the responsibility of his family.

I also don't think maturity doesn't depend on age but most people consider one mature based on age and it's not right. I believe that we will come up from that kind of thought.

I agree with the above quote: adulthood is not about age but being matured and have responsibilities. Here, we would see a young child who acts maturely than his age while someone who is already grown up, maybe in his 30 still acting like a kid. It all depends on various factors of life.

You are right, events that happen early in life can impact a person's maturity. Managed properly it can make a person grow in the attitudes that are needed for daily life. Regards @itwithsm

That is very true. Adulthood comes with responsibilities. When one can handle responsibility then he is she can be said to be an adult.

yes right, these responsibilities makes us a stronger person that can fight with every situation that comes in his/her way.

Experiences does help one to mature, age has little or nothing to contribute to maturity.

I agree with you, many kids get into adulthood too soon, and also I know old guys that are still kids lol with no responsibilities at all

Your report about younger people with maturity is very interesting, as it demonstrates that age only reports a number.
