Hey hive hustlers fam!!

It's been a long time since I made a post here, not just only on this community though but on hive in general.

These past weeks has been filled with ups and downs but we stand strong. Now,is a good time to share tips on business and marketing and i would love to talk on a question a friend asked me recently and the question was....how can I make my customers not to see me as a scammer?

So,here is my answer to that question 👇

EVERYONE DOING BUSINESS ONLINE IS A SCAMMER!!

have you been called a scammer online?
here's what to do to avoid being called a SCAMMER...

i can never forget the first time I was called a scammer online,it was in 2019,I made a post about a business I was doing online and there in the comment section someone called me a scammer...
Ah! ,
a whole me... I cried o...i was hurt ,angry, pained,I felt all the bad emotions you can think of so I responded to the comment, oh yes, I did 🤭 but to be honest, I wasn't satisfied even after giving it back to the person and my response didn't stop others from calling me a scammer under my posts, that was when I realized that it was part of all the experiences you'll get as a person doing business online.

if you haven't been called a scammer online, don't be too excited, e go reach you too but how do you avoid this or lower the chances of people calling you or your business a scam?

BRANDING: This is how people identify YOU or YOUR BUSINESS. It is the process of creating a strong and positive perception about YOU/YOUR business.. It is how people recognise and experience your business. having a strong brand is more than just a logo, it has to do with your positioning.

How do you position yourself ?

FIRSTLY, you can position yourself as an AUTHORITY or EXPERT in your field (whatever business you do) and you do this by giving them VALUE!!
people are attracted to value, give them value by educating, empowering and entertaining them

SECONDLY, you can also position yourself by borrowing someone's AUTHORITY. This person can be a celebrity or someone that is an expert or the best in your field. let's say, I'm selling a drink that can make you sing wonderfully well even if you have a terrible voice and you see Beyonce or other celebrity singers with that drink, I bet you'll trust the product and buy it.
you get the gist?

UNDENIABLE PROOFS, TESTIMONIALS or REVIEWS: people love results!!!
is your product working?
is your business opportunity working?
if yes, show it to them!!
they don't care about what your product or business opportunity is,if it's working, they'll believe you

CONSISTENCY: this means you have to keep doing what you are doing repeatedly. when you keep showing up, it allows you to establish awareness, build trust and deliver your services efficiently and profitably.

can I be honest with you?

you can follow all these tips and more but you'll still find people calling you a scammer or your business a scam the truth is that as long as you do business online you should always expect it ,even when there's proof & there are people testifying about you or products, you'll still see some persons calling you that.

One thing is always consistent with people, and that is; whatever they don't understand they label.

If they don't understand what your business is about and how it works, be sure they will doubt you 100%, hence The label, Scammer.
Especially when money is involved. The funny thing is that they can't really identify the main scammer o

you could have a solution to their problems but they doubt, until when someone promises to double their money in the name of investment, they will call that offer "LEGIT"

there's this saying that there will be thorns while plucking roses and it's true, there are individuals/businesses that are scam online so if you do business online, you can only try to lower the chances of getting called a scammer but you can't stop people from calling you that. One thing you must not do is to insult them back, it's waste of time....just move on and keep on showing up!!

If you have others tips ,you are welcome to share them.

peace!!

"I'm a SCAMMER? OK. You're online, so what's that make you?"

One possible response to being called a "scammer'

Some sort of guarantee may help to reduce the number of times one is called a "scammer" for doing business online. This way, instead of 100 people calling you a scammer, it's "only" 38 or 19 people calling you that.

A satisfying emotional response could be an additional guarantee like this:

  • "If you still think I'm a SCAMMER even after all of this [whatever promises you made to offer a refund], then feel free to take my ass to court!!

Who wants to go through that hassle? Even so, that response is more of an emotional release, so I would NOT recommend making it.

If your business relies on licensing and permits-- and that could be nearly all businesses-- you an always refer to the greatest source of scammers: the licensing authorities. After all, they thought enough of the SCAMMER accusation to go ahead and grant you a license or permit, anyway. On top of that, you had to pay to get those licenses and permits, and look at what you went through to get those pieces of paper or permission.

In the end, we know the reality of our own situations, so being called a SCAMMER for doing business online is just one cost of doing business.
