1998 / Thursday / Late Afternoon in Bagsit River

1998
So many memories from 1998, whether they made me happy or sad. "Titanic" may have been released in late 1997, but it became so huge in 1998 and remained the highest-grossing movie for a long time. The movie also contributed a lot to pop culture. Celine Dion, who performed the theme song "My Heart Will Go On," became the biggest music artist of the year, too. After that, soundtrack albums became popular with the likes of "City of Angels", "Armageddon", and others.
It was also the year when the Spice Girls became a quartet after Geri Halliwell left the group in mid-1998. The girls went on with their world tour as a quartet, making it one of the biggest news stories of the year.
So many music artists became popular in 1998, like Savage Garden, Backstreet Boys, Natalie Imbruglia, and NSYNC. Shania Twain's blockbuster album "Come On Over" also had its breakthrough during the year.
Talking about life, it was also the year when my eldest sister went overseas to work. During the late third quarter of the year, a strong storm ravaged our province. It was the very first devastating typhoon we had ever experienced, leaving us without electricity for two months. Around that same time, my cousins, who had lived with us for many years, moved into their newly built home.
Thursday
It's already rainy season, and we can feel it now. It's fine if the rain is slow, no problem with that. Hopefully, there's no flood. Our yearly problem is water getting inside the house.
Late Afternoon in Bagsit River
We're already done for the day's activity. It's actually time to go home. Even it's late afternoon, Bagsit River is still beautiful.
