The Passage of Time.

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

While tending to his horse, John received a telegram from Sadie Adler regarding a job. I rushed home to tell Abigail, but found she had left with Jack, leaving a letter and a gift. To cope with his sadness, John spent days performing grueling ranch chores and building fences.

It was the next morning when John was brushing his horse, and suddenly Abe came over to say there is a telegram messenger waiting for him. The sudden appearance of a messenger was rare and immediately caught his full attention.

Then I had to get to the messenger and take the telegram, so I went running toward him across the open fields. I felt a surge of curiosity about who would be sending word to the ranch. The messenger stood by his horse.

The messenger made John sign on the register book to get the telegram, and then he noticed it was from Sadie Adler. She was telling him she got something to discuss that pays good and wanted John to meet her in the Saloon in Valentine.

The telegram from Sadie actually surprised John, and then he had to speak to Abigail at the house to discuss the opportunity. I ran fast as I was also excited about the potential money.

After getting inside the house, John didn't find anyone, as Abigail and Jack had left him, leaving a letter for him on the table. The silence of the home was deafening as he picked up the paper.

Abigail highlighted that she can't have their son around John while he is like this in the letter, fearing the ghost of his past life. They saw what happened to their group last time.

Then John found the parcel that Abigail mentioned she bought as a gift for John before she decided to leave. It was a shirt for him, a nice-looking shirt that sat neatly in the box. He held the shirt while feeling the weight of everything he lost.

Suddenly, there came Mr. Dickens to tell John there is work to be done out on the ranch. So he went out to do some work, as he needed the distraction to keep his mind steady.

I had different chores to do to keep the property in order, so I returned to work and I chose to start by building the fence. I hauled the heavy lumber and hammered the posts deep into the dirt. I was hoping each strike helped was clearing John's head.

Then John started working in the cinematic part while the day passed and the sun began to dip below the horizon. He worked with a grim determination.

Another night passed and John still kept working on the fences, along with different chores around the ranch.

Then he was seen milking the cows and maintaining relations with the workers around the ranch to keep up appearances. He moved from one chore to the next without pausing.

Another night passed by and it seemed like the repetitive nature of the work provided a strange kind of comfort.

It was another morning, and the cycle began again with the first light of dawn hitting the barn. First, he was seen cleaning the stables and then brushing the horses.

And it was probably after some day when he was seen milking the cows in the early morning. It looked like he had at last finished working on the fences.

Here I'm finishing the post for today, and I'll talk about more special RDR 2 gaming moments in Gaming Photography.

Its sad to see how John became alone there. Abigail is not at fault, John is not at fault as well. Its just that a life of an outlaw can't be changed this easily like Abigail wanted it to be.

True, the game does a great job showing how difficult it is to escape a violent past so quickly.

The silence in the house after finding that letter was heartbreaking. That new shirt is a tough gift to look at now that Abigail is gone.

Right. Hard to enjoy a new shirt when emotional damage comes with it.

I felt bad for John during the letter scene. The empty house, the silence, and the gift Abigail left behind made the whole situation feel very emotional.

Exactly.
Sometimes an empty house feels louder than a battlefield.
