Who is John Marston?
John collected a large amount of mail for Geddes after identifying Abigail's parcel, and insisted his name was Jim Milton. On the ride back, John encouraged Jack to drive through difficult terrain until they were intercepted by armed men. John hid Jack behind a log and faced the strangers who questioned his true identity.

After John finally gave the name of Abigail to the postmaster, the man behind the counter searched his shelves once more. He finally found something tucked away that belonged to her, confirming that the parcel had indeed arrived.

Then John talked about the mail for Geddes, as he was also there to pick up the ranch's official correspondence. The postmaster asked him to sign a ledger, mentioning they had received a lot of things for Geddes recently.

As there were a lot of heavy items to move, the postmaster helped John carry them out to the wagon. While they walked, John kept trying to insist his name was actually Jim Milton, not John, to maintain his cover. The postmaster said its not important.

After getting back on the wagon, John suggested to Jack that he should ride it back toward the ranch. He wanted to give some more training to the kid so he would be comfortable handling the horses.
Jack was clearly scared of the responsibility, but John encouraged him with kind words.

After riding for a while through the scenic trails, the kid asked John to take over the reins because there were some narrow bridges ahead. Jack felt nervous about steering the heavy wagon over the water, but John made him keep riding. He wanted his son to face his fears and learn how to navigate the tougher parts of the road.

Then suddenly, John noticed two armed men on horses appearing on the path right in front of them. The atmosphere changed instantly as the strangers slowed down and then started following the wagon from a short distance. Both John and I kept a close eye on them, sensing that they were not just regular travelers on the road.

John realized the situation was getting dangerous, so he asked Jack to pull over the wagon immediately. He found a big tree log nearby and made the kid hide behind it for protection. He told Jack to stay down and let his daddy take care of everything.

It was that same man from the post office along with two more armed companions who approached the wagon. John stepped forward and asked what they wanted from him in such a remote area.
The lead man looked him in the eye and asked if he was actually the man known as John Marston.

John refused the name Marston. At that very time, I used the photo mode to get close to them to have a good look at their faces before the inevitable fight started.
So, I got it right right after seeing that man in the post office, he's bad news.

It is clear the postmaster didn't buy the Jim Milton act for a second, but at least he helped with the heavy lifting. It's a shame that the secret didn't stay inside those four walls and ended up putting Jack in danger on the ride home.
Haha yeah. Thanks for commenting.
Using photo mode to get a close-up of the hunters before the fight was a smart play. It lets you see the detail on their gear and prepares you for the shootout, that is definitely about to happen.
Though I was just trying to get some good captures, that's all.
It looks a very exciting game I love it

Nice story. The way you explained this mission made it fun and exciting to read. I liked how John stayed calm and protected Jack from danger.
Its how a father should react.
You did a very good job of writing the story. The scene with the strangers coming on the road felt so intense. You described moments really well.
