A House at Last.

John and Charles spent several days securing pre-cut logs to finish the walls and roof of the house. After a celebration with Uncle and midnight roofing work, the structure was completed. John wrote a heartfelt letter to Abigail detailing the journey, his helpers, and how much he missed his family.

With the structural framework successfully standing, we shifted our focus toward filling up the main walls and roofing sections. We spent several consecutive days hauling and securing the pre-cut logs into place, steadily transforming the hollow skeleton into a proper shelter.

Night fell upon the ranch once again, revealing a lively change of pace in the courtyard. Uncle took charge of the entertainment by forcefully breaking into a joyful dance, while John quietly stepped back to inspect the overall structural integrity of the house they had been working on so tirelessly.

Another morning arrived, finding John perched high up on the rooftop with a hammer in hand. He spent the early hours focused entirely on the finishing work for the roof, securing the final shingles under the bright morning sun.

John managed to complete the entire roof section in a single day, as he was still wearing the exact same clothing when darkness returned. After climbing down from the peak of the structure, he looked around the site, noting that the building process was almost officially concluded.

The scene shifted to later that night, where John sat down to draft a heartfelt letter to Abigail. He wrote with the sole purpose of letting her know that he had finally built the exact home she had always dreamed of for their future.

While writing the letter, John detailed the financial struggles he had overcome to get this far. He explained how he secured the bank loan and purchased the pre-cut home kit to make the ambitious project a reality.

He continued writing about the fateful encounters that made the build possible, mentioning how he ran into Uncle right as he was exiting the bank. He also detailed finding Charles Smith, giving both men proper credit for helping him construct the family dream house.

John wrote about how deeply he missed Abigail and their son, stating his longing was greater than words could ever express. As he penned these emotional thoughts, a series of nostalgic flashbacks played across the screen, highlighting fond memories of his family.

A brand-new morning dawned on the horizon, showing John as he calmly stepped out of the freshly installed front doors of the newly constructed house. The morning light gleamed off the fresh timber as he walked onto the porch.

After walking out into the yard, John turned around to admire the final results of their grueling labor. He stood in silence as he checked over the finished exterior, confirming that the entire ranch home was now completely done and ready for his family.

Here I'm finishing the post for today, and I'll talk about more special RDR 2 gaming moments in Gaming Photography.

Seeing John finish the roof and quietly admire everything afterward really showed how much this home meant to him. And his letter hit right in the feels.

Uncle breaking into a dance after doing the least amount of physical work was exactly the kind of comedy I expected from him. It was the highlight for me, lol.

The family flashbacks made the letter even more emotional since they reminded everyone exactly why John never gave up on building the ranch.

You're right. The story did a great job connecting John's dream of the ranch with the people he loved most.
