Midnight Encounters.

After finding a $30 bounty poster for Herman Zizendorf at the Blackwater police department, I camped until nightfall. Riding back into town under a starry sky, I saved a man from a robber, accepted a cash reward, discovered a mysterious wall carving, and greeted a local lady.

While walking my horse around Blackwater in the dark, I passed in front of the police department and figured there might be a bounty job waiting inside. Deciding to check it out, I walked into the office in the middle of the night.

My suspicion was right. A bounty poster hung on the wall, and after inspecting it, I learned it was for a man named Herman Zizendorf.

He was wanted for fraud, deceiving an officer of the law, and multiple counts of theft. The reward was $30 for his arrest and detention until a Blackwater officer could collect him.

Before I left the building, the local sheriff offered a few more details, mentioning that the target could only be found at night. As I stepped outside, I noticed the sun was already starting to rise, meaning I would have to wait until the following evening to track him down.

Unwilling to waste time wandering around all day, I decided to ride out into the wilderness and set up camp to fast-forward the hours.

When I reached a good spot in the wild, the sun was just coming up over the horizon, painting a stunning view across the landscape. I set up my camp right there and chose to sleep until nightfall, resting for about 18 hours.

When I woke up, my horse was still standing faithfully beside me next to the campfire. A half-moon hung in the sky, framed by a brilliant backdrop of countless stars. It was a incredible scene to take in.

By the time I packed up camp, it was midnight. The bounty marker had reappeared on my map back inside Blackwater, so I mounted up to head after him while it was still dark.

I could not help but wonder why the local sheriffs had not arrested the man themselves if he was lurking right around town, but I pushed the thought aside and rode on.

On my way to the marker, the sudden sound of someone screaming for help caught my attention. I stopped to investigate and saw a robber threatening a helpless man.

I immediately rode over to intervene, causing the robber to turn and sprint away the moment he saw me approach. The victim was saved, and the robber ran away so I chased him a little.

Instead of keep chasing the fleeing thief, I turned back to check on the stranger.

He offered me a reward for stepping in. I was not about to pass up money like I used to do while playing as Arthur, so I accepted it. It came out to about twelve and a half dollars, which was not bad at all just for showing up.

Right nearby, I noticed some mysterious writing carved into a wall, though the design looked more like a drawing or child's doodle than actual words. By then, the robber was long gone.

As I continued down the street, I spotted a lady standing under the glow of a lamplight, seemingly waiting for someone. I offered her a polite greeting as I passed, but she did not seem interested in talking, so I simply went on my way.
