— ¿Ella me preguntó qué pasaba?

Me preguntaba a mí

Y festejamos. Ya no lo celebramos como antes. Tenemos ya 42 años de casados.

Happy afternoon to all the [@Ladies-of-Hive and to all of you who are attentive each week to answer one of the questions in each round.

I'm around today to answer the questions for contest #172.
And answer the question:

1️⃣ Do you have poignant memories, hilarious mishaps, or would you rather let it go without fanfare? Share your opinion: what makes this day special to you or why you'd rather let it go by

I have a poignant memory and at the same time it was like a joke, on the other hand.
Valentine's Day came. I bought everything to make a pasticho for my husband to celebrate Valentine's Day. When we woke up we congratulated each other, we stopped for breakfast, and he went to the computer while I was preparing everything for lunch. I made the ground beef, which is the first thing to cook. When it is ready, I take out the ham, yellow cheese and Mozzarella cheese. I go and tell my husband that the meat is ready, but I'm going to wait until later to continue. At that moment the phone rings. When I answer it was my niece Deli.
— Hi mommy God bless you
— Hello Aunt. There is a problem.
— What is it?
— My grandparents' Parrot is sick and I have to go out and I don't want to leave my grandparents alone because they are very sad,
— Can you come?
Immediately, I said yes. Of course, the pasticho was on the back burner.
I arrived at my parents' house. The parrot was lying on the furniture giving him serum with an injector because he was very weak.
I immediately called my sister Amada at work to come over.
— Hello Amada, how are you?
— Can you come to my parents?
— She asked me what was wrong?
— I told her that my parents' Parrot is dying
and she answered the phone
— Dying?

The 4 colleagues in the office stood up from their posts and asked her
— Who is dying?

She didn't answer
She asked me
— But why?
— What is happening to her?
— Why is she dying?
— She is very weak and it's hard for her to breathe
The companions, all surprised by the look on my sister's face and worried, kept motioning to my sister as she talked to me.
Finally my sister said to me
— I'll be right there.

And we hung up.
The companions all at the same time asked.

— Who is dying Amada?
— Mom and Dad's parrot.

And those classmates all burst out laughing and could not stop laughing.

Well, my sister arrived at my parents' house and we stayed there until almost five o'clock in the afternoon, which was when the parrot died. My husband looked for a shoe box to put him in. We said goodbye and brought the parrot in the suitcase and we had to bury him. We got home and forgot about it, we had to go back to bury it. When we finally got home.
My husband told me to leave the pasticho for the next day. Because I was too married to start cooking at that time. And in the end he was the one who ended up giving me the surprise with some delicious arepas that he made for me. The next day I made the pasticho.
And we celebrated. We don't celebrate like we used to. We have been married for 42 years now.

Hello good morning. Thank you very much for reading me and for your congratulations @g2comfort.

We carry on the legacy left to us by our parents. To see us live together for only 77 years. It's not easy, but we always say it's an example to follow. We renewed their ecclesiastical marriage vows 3 times and lived many experiences with them.
One of the examples that father used to say, was that when they had their first coffee, they should take the time to sit together, hold hands and after the first sip of coffee, then kiss each other good morning. So many of my brothers and sisters and I do that.

What a heartwarming story!
Your dedication to your family and the unexpected turn of events on Valentine's Day truly showcase the beauty of life's little moments.

Even though the pasticho was delayed, it's clear the love and support you and your husband share shines through.

I especially love the office scene with your sister and her colleagues.
First the shock and then the burst of laughter highlight the absurdity of the situation, adding a touch of humor to your poignant memory.

Thank you for sharing this personal story!
It reminds us that sometimes, the most special days are the ones that unfold in unexpected ways.

Thank you @meraki7578, for visiting me.
That's right. It's an unforgettable family story. My parents loved the parrot very much and so did the family. And then the scare from my sister's co-workers. This story is very memorable. Glad you liked it. Happy Holidays to you.

Hi @flourishandflora. Thanks for reading my story. So it is to laugh for my sad sister's coworkers why a parrot that had many years in my parents' house dies. And that the story is longer. And in the end we celebrated the next day. Because we didn't want to leave my parents alone when the parrot died. Because he was breathing slowly and dying. Mom and Dad had lunch and Dad said he was going to lie down for a while and a little while later he died. I went to tell dad. And he told me very calmly. IT'S OK DAUGHTER. And Ya🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

That's right. 43 years already. And yesterday we were able to celebrate Valentine's Day.
