Apocalyptic Homesteading (Day 1177)

Hello Everyone!

An overcast day, Back pain sucks, A long hike & A failed sewing project!

Alright, I am starting the writing routine dead in the middle of its timeframe... even though I tried really hard to begin it much earlier. Recently I remarked upon narrowing that timeframe some... but now I think doing so would be a short route to disappointment given how much my timing already tends to vary.

I once again fell asleep relatively early last night... and wound up waking at around four in the morning which was fine and all... but all I did was zone out for a few hours before falling back asleep again. The next time I awoke was after sunrise and although that time I actually brewed some espresso... I wound up taking a nap before I could even finish it.

Later in the morning I did my Hive engagement routine again and although I tried to keep it brief... I did wind up spending a good bit of time reading stuff and making some comments. Once all that wound down, I turned my attention to having a long conversation with one of my custom GPT models... which lasted much longer than I first anticipated that it would.

I will not go down that particular rabbit warren (in regards to the conversation) but at one point I noticed that the sun had finally broken out from behind the clouds and tried to wrap the conversation up... and get outdoors while it was sunny out. Unfortunately, the sunny weather was fleeting and by the time I made it outside it was not only overcast again... but the icy wind was blowing rather steadily.

I did manage to get all the dog waste cleaned up from the dog yard... but my back started bothering me almost immediately... and the chilly damp conditions made it seem even worse than it was. I had hoped to transition on to doing other activities after getting the dog yard cleaned up... but had to go lay on my back for a while instead in an effort to relieve the discomfort.

Of course I wound up falling asleep yet again... and I guess that I had been scratching my ear either before I fell asleep... or I was doing it in my sleep... because when I awoke my head was resting on my hand... and my thumbnail was digging into my ear in a painful way. Feeling rather annoyed at that point I went for a long hike around the property to look for storm damage but thankfully everything was fine.

Since the day was kind of a bust as far as productivity goes... I decided to sew up that rip in the chintzy bug-proof cover that I bought for the mattress... but I could not find my spool of nylon thread or any other thread for that matter. I wound up using a few pieces of scrap thread that was in the tin that I keep the sewing needles in... and added a few stitches to each end of the rip... in an effort to stop it from getting torn any further.

Long story short, the day was not really all that productive (aside from maybe that conversation with the AI) and I do not have much to write about without getting way off topic... and whining about the futility of trying (and constantly failing) to make my life better over the years.

Well, on that note I am going to cut this entry short. I hope that everyone is doing well and has what they need in life to keep it a worthwhile endeavor. Ta ta for now.

It is supposed to start blowing here tomorrow 35 to 40 out of the NE, we had rain all day today. It has been a wet winter.

Sorry for the bummer day!! It is too bad that you couldnt find much thread. If only I could pass you some through the comment as I have a big collection of all kinds of sewing items. Hoping that the weather warms up soon!

Some days are better than others. I guess that it will always be that way!

Tomorrow the weather is supposed to improve as far as the cloud cover goes but the temperature is going to take a dive the next few nights and get below freezing again.

I have some nylon thread somewhere. I just need to dig more for it. Otherwise I have some dental floss that will do the trick.
