Apocalyptic Homesteading (Day 1217)

Hello Everyone!

Up late, The extra food helps, In the music zone & Knocking out some chores!

Okay, it is about twelve minutes behind my scheduled start time for the writing routine... and all things considered I am right on time enough. If I could spell the day out in a nutshell... I would have to say that it was long but timely... yet of course... that does not explain much.

Last night I had a heck of a time falling asleep... because I kept feeling hungry and thus kept getting up and eating more food... which yeah was largely due to having just gone on a supply run. Like I mentioned sometime back, I have begun to get a few extra items (on each supply run) so that I can gorge myself a bit without impacting my overall supplies for the month.

Eventually though, I did get some good rest and managed to sleep quite soundly to boot... and honestly I awoke feeling quite refreshed even if it was a bit later than the time that I had wanted to be awake at. Thankfully, there was nothing much demanding my attention this morning... and I was able to dive into my Hive engagement routine with very little in the way of distractions.

I am unsure how long that I piddled around on the computer for... but somehow I got sucked into looking at various handheld 'powerbanks' and sort of lost track of the time while doing it. I did not order any of them... and think that mainly I was just super excited to see how advanced (and available) they have become... as well as the variety in which they are produced.

Anyways, I got outside by noon today... but whoa I kind of let myself get really zoned out listening to music... and in the not-so-grand scheme of things I did not get an incredible amount of stuff done. To be clear, I stayed quite busy throughout the course of the day (until after sunset) but overall I could have gotten much more done if I had not begun vibing out.

The weather was so nice that I almost made a fire after shoveling all the debris (from the last fire) into a dog food bag that already had some trash in it. While I was filling the bag, I kept thinking that I should always be adding some low grade biochar (and even ash) to every trash bag that I fill... because it would probably help the landfill out to some degree.

Aside from all of that I wound up pulling a bunch of clothes (and fabric bags) off of the dog yard fence... before the pine pollen could coat them anymore. I even vigorously shook them out for good measure... but I gotta admit that I (by far) did not get all of it... and that whoa it is in a greater abundance than any of the other spring times that I have been here.

Well, I think that I am going to keep this entry short and sweet given how fatigued that I am feeling after the days activities. I hope that everyone is doing well and does what they do well with a smile on their face. Ta ta for now.

The black locust saplings have begun putting out leaves!
