Apocalyptic Homesteading (Day 1218)

Hello Everyone!

Staying on track with my routines, A much chillier day, Packing away the tools & Planting potatoes per usual!

Alright, I am beginning my writing routine a whole three minutes early tonight... in an effort to avoid procrastinating it. Having just eaten a big meal of oats and cereal... I can feel the inclination to slip off to sleep growing... and it is just best to dive in here and spell out whatever I can before that feeling grows much stronger.

Last night I zonked out super early in the evening... and honestly I have no idea how I managed to hold off the fatigue long enough to make the day's entry. I also slept very soundly and wound up waking up early this morning... so hopefully my sleep cycle has begun to get back on track.

This morning I sort of dicked around doing my usual Hive engagement routine... but I did not do much in the way of actual engagement. My brain is just so all over the place (due to the upcoming move to a new place) that it is amazing that I can stay consistent with any of my usual routines.

Eventually I got outdoors and began knocking out some chores... like getting the laundry off the fence and cleaning up the dog yard. Not long afterwards I changed gears and headed to the shop tent to start on the cleaning and packing process again... which would have been a bit more enjoyable if the weather had not turned overcast, windy and chilly.

My main focus today was to use a bunch of the fabric bags (that I washed during the last few weeks) to get some of my tools organized and packed away. By the end of it I also fished a bunch of my tools out of the solar shack... and got them packed away as well... so I at least got the bulk of my tools consolidated now.

Regardless of the chilly conditions, I spent much of the day working on that stuff... and somehow I managed to yet again get the entire trash can filled with stuff that I am throwing away. I gotta admit that having that trash can (and the trash collection service) has made the entire process so much easier... and without them I would have quite the mountain of trash at this point!

As far as the tools go... I have been doing my best to not only group them together... but also pack them in such a way that I will have the ones that I will immediately need readily available... and everything else stored in places where I know where they are. Having kept most of my tools grouped into 'kits' over the years... doing all of that was not that big of a deal... but whoa I sure had them spread out and let things grow quite unorganized during the last few years here.

By late in the day the foul weather began to blow in... but I did manage to get some potatoes planted in a flower pot (as is my tradition on Saint Patty's day) but I am unsure just how viable the potatoes themselves were. A few days ago I had set them outside on the PVC table (to remind myself to plant them) and during that time they had began to rot a bit... and the 'eyes' on them had gone from green to a brown color.

Well, I think that is all the words that I have in me for this entry and am going to keep it short and sweet. I hope that everyone is doing well and have had an enjoyable weekend. Ta ta for now.

It was quite the overcast day!

I hope your taters still come up. We are to get bad weather tomorrow, I hope it is our last cold front but I doubt if that will be so.

Shell made you a BD card for you, I told her I would take a picture of it and send it to you but she wants to mail it to you. Will you send me the address on FB message?

You have to take it easy upon yourself as your brain is to occupy with the new place to move. I believe soon everything will be fine with you and your usual routine.
