Really? I suppose my surprise relates to my very different life here in the US. My father worked for a railroad, the first library I remember was in a former train depot, and railroad museums or locomotive displays have been part of my travel itinerary whenever possible. They may be obsolete now, but steam locomotives are fascinating pieces of technology.

I don’t disagree. Steam locomotives are absolutely fascinating! It’s a pity I haven’t had the chance to interact with one yet. I plan to Travel after I’m done with this internship gig I’m doing right now. If I do get to travel, I’ll definitely be on a train ride sometime during my travels:)
