Hello friends.
It's true that happiness is a choice you have to make, sometimes however it feels like sadness and depression, much like darkness, is always present and easily slipped into.
I see it... sort of in the way that light, much like happiness, takes energy, darkness, much like sadness, does not take any energy, for it is the lack of energy, like the darkness is the lack of light. The universe seeks entropy, it seeks stillness, it seeks darkness. If given enough time, everything will return to silence... life and happiness is giving the big middle finger to what the universe wants, to what the universe is working constantly towards... So it makes sense that people find sadness an easier state to slip into.
It does beg the question, if the universe is emptiness, if it seeks entropy and stillness, why then is there light? Did one day the universe get bored with its darkness? In the infinite size of the universe, who is saying that intelligence cannot rise from the happenstance of particles and hydrogen clouds coming together? Perhaps the universe then created itself, to give itself something to do besides just exist?
Anyways, I started up today feeling a little down, depressed. I do know what triggered it, but then I also know it takes active energy to combat the state of mind... Much like the universe made a choice to make light, I must make a choice not to be in darkness. I must not seek stillness that comes from entropy, but give a big middle finger to nothing, to be something, to be happy, I choose it.
And that brings us to a few of our daily photos.
The Daily Photos
As mentioned above, today started off with a bit of a funk. Very much so was suffering from a lack of inspiration and ideas. but the sunrise brings fresh eyes.
A walk to the shoreline to see spectacular sites, the sun coming up. Pastel colors.
In the Golden hour, everything feels magical.
I think it's that hard golden light coming from the edge, makes the world seem fresh and new.
why even the dilapidated Golden Swan Hotel, looks nice in this light. lol
Just a few photos this morning, I think I have to find more information outside... Find more things to take pictures of... I miss travel. I miss travelling a whole lot... hrm.

I've had some interesting weeks and have been recovering from a serious bout with covid and am currently evacuated from my home in California due to wildfires! hahaha so... forgive me if I don't get back to any comment from you right away - but I hopefully will keep in contact over the long haul :)

Full disclosure, I do a little post-processing on my pictures to crush the blocks and highlight the colors a bit. It's a personal choice as I like the more dynamic range an image has with them set that way. 😵 But such kind words you rock. Have a !PIZZA and some !LUV

The effect you create with your post-processing works great.
But that is why they call it the art of photography, isn't it? It's not just about pressing a button and there is a picture...
No, there is more effort going into it to create an effect, to create the desired image you could see in your mind...

I did get into a debate in our school people, is it the process or the product that is important at the end. You make an interesting picture the end of it all I think that is more important than the process you used to get there. But that's just me.

I totally agree with your point of view. If I look at two pictures, one might "talk to me" while the other one is "just a picture". I think it's a no-brainer which one will draw my attention...yet I don't care two hoots about the process it took for either picture to get there. I just see the end product and that's all I care about...
