The Long day of Present Wrapping (Story and Photo).

Hi Friends,

Sometimes donating your precious time to good causes is more than just a worthwhile endeavor - it can be an incredibly rewarding Andover. Not only does it provide an opportunity for meaningful contribution to the world, but it can also have a positive and lasting impact on your own life. After all, the satisfaction of helping others - and knowing that your efforts have made a positive difference - is a reward that no amount of money can buy. Whether you choose to volunteer at a local food bank or community center or you take part in a larger-scale social justice effort, donating your time to good causes can be an incredibly gratifying experience. So, why not take some time out of your busy schedule and dedicate it to doing something truly worthwhile?

I posted a video yesterday of the time laps of the project (View it here), wrapping 301 gifts for kids, but today I wanted to take a moment and show the "On-The-Ground" photos from the event.

Last year we did the same project and had a lot of hands helping; this year, the helping hands were... less... that meant more fun for us! My job was to fold boxes, then pack up the boxes... OMG.. it was a lot.

Here you can see a pile of unfolded boxes, just waiting to be folded.. by who? Me... Hahaha.

After me in line, two ladies taped the bottoms of the boxes and got them ready for packing... OH.. the packing..

At least the people working in line had a smile on and seemed to enjoy what they were doing. :D

Gifts_ (3).jpg

There were 12 items in each gift box. One of the items was a toy; this year, the toy was a bottle of slime.. yes, goo... kids love the stuff... (*I sort of do too). Here is a photo of a box of goo.

Here are some of the boxes half paced with the 12 items... after folding the boxes, I packed them with the goods, laid out 12 at a time, and then added all the items in.

Gifts_ (5).jpg

Over time, the boxes got packed up and wrapped... one at a time; they got finished.

Gifts_ (6).jpg

The little elves wrapped and labeled each box; it was nice to see people coming together like this.

Gifts_ (7).jpg

I would take a break from packing the boxes every now and again to wander around and take some photos of what was going on and keep track of the wrapping progress!

Gifts_ (9).jpg

Seeing the boxes get stacked up, wrapped, then tagged was like being in Santa's workshop. Perhaps I was an elf? Perhaps this was a storage delusion, and I was at the north pole... hrmm.

Gifts_ (12).jpg

The pile grew and neared its completed stack of gifts...

Gifts_ (13).jpg

There was a lot of waste generated as well from the packing, and that sort of bummed e out.. like I wish it were not so much waste.. but it will at least do some good in the world.

Gifts_ (14).jpg

At this point, I was spent, was standing for about 4 hours, packing boxes, and it was about time to eat and sleep.

Gifts_ (16).jpg

I got to grab a photo of the wrapping team (I am not in it as I took it).

Gifts_ (17).jpg

Here is the final pile of gifts to donate.

On Monday, I will go with them to the mountains, about 2 hours outside of Danang, and I will be dressed as Santa to give out these gifts to the mountain children. I hope to have some photos of that for you all when I get back as well.

So, in summary...

The holiday season is a time for celebration and being with family, friends, and loved ones. Now is the time to get in the spirit of giving, and what better way to do that than by donating some of your time to help others in need? Whether you're helping out at a soup kitchen, volunteering at a homeless shelter, or lending a helping hand to a friend or neighbor, there are countless ways to give back. Plus, it's a great way to spread a little holiday cheer and make a positive impact.

Thanks for reading, and see you soon.
