[ENG-SPA] My dear friend Oscar / Mi querido amigo Oscar
Hello dear #hive community 🙋🏻♂️ especially to my dear friends of #HivePets 🐶. Receive all of you a big greeting and happy day, of course. This time I have come to bring you a story that I wanted to tell you for a long time 🤗. You may already know that on several occasions I have been able to rescue kittens from the street, however, this time it was something special 😅.
About a year ago, (in June to be exact) 🤔. I was coming from accompanying a very special person to me from work 😊. It was a rainy day and we were wearing our ponchos (Rubber or raincoat in another country) 🌨. I left this person at his house and when I came through a creek I almost stepped on a little turtle 🐢 a I was on my way to the street, just where all kinds of vehicles pass 😱. When I saw this I decided to pick it up and I noticed that it had a bump on one of its legs 🙁.

En esta oportunidad he venido a traerles una historia que quería comentarles desde hace tiempo 🤗. Ya sabrán que en varias oportunidades he podido rescatar gatitos de la calle, sin embargo, esta vez fue algo especial 😅.
Hace aproximadamente un año, (en junio para ser exactos) 🤔. Venía de acompañar a una persona muy especial para mí de su trabajo 😊. Era un día lluvioso y traíamos puestos nuestros ponchos (Caucho o impermeable en otro país) 🌨. Dejé a esta persona en su casa y cuando vengo por una quebrada casi piso a una pequeña tortuguita 🐢 a que iba camino a la calle, justamente donde pasan todo tipo de vehículos 😱. Al ver esto decidí recogerla y noté que tenía un golpe en una de sus patitas 🙁.
Without thinking too much I took it and brought it home, the idea was to take care of it until its paw was better, I looked for a box, some food (vegetables) and cleaned it 🏠. That turtle from what I had read on the internet I understood that it was male 🐢🔵. So like every rescued animal I gave it a name for a change, anyway, the intention would be to keep it until it recovered 💪🏻 and it was baptized as Oscar.
Sin pensarlo demasiado la tomé y la traje a casa, la idea era cuidarla hasta que su patita estuviese mejor, le busqué una caja, un poco de comida (vegetales) y la limpié 🏠. A aquella tortuga por lo que había leído en internet entendí que era macho 🐢🔵. Así que como a todo animal rescatado le puse un nombre para variar, de todos modos, la intención sería quedarme con ella hasta que se recuperara 💪🏻 y fue bautizada como Óscar.
Although I wasn't quite sure what kind of turtle it would be, the truth is that I was surprised, since this turtle was very fast, strong and ate meat haha 🥩 . No lettuce, no tomatoes, no nothing like that. More than one joked me saying that it would be like the turtle from "The wonderful world of Gumbal" (TV Series) that eats everything it comes across including me haha 🤣. So with the information I handled I would give him a little bit of meat daily. Although as the situation is in my country, it was somewhat complicated. Anyway, he was looking for a way 😊. Another detail was that Oscar liked to eat the meat in the water, he could not leave it outside on a plate 🐢. So as I had an old fridge drawer, in it I made a small pond with soil and water in which he made life for at least half a year. Although I had to change the water daily haha 🤢.
Aunque no estaba muy seguro de que tipo de tortuga sería, lo cierto es que me sorprendió, puesto que esta tortuga era muy rápida, fuerte y comía carne jaja 🥩. No lechuga, ni tomates, ni nada de eso. Más de uno me bromeaba diciendo que sería como la tortuga de “El maravilloso mundo de Gumbal” (Serie de TV) que come todo lo que se encuentre incluyéndome a mi jaja 🤣. Así que con la información que manejaba le daba un poquito de carne a diario. Aunque como está la situación en mi país, era algo complicado. De todos modos se buscaba la manera 😊. Otro detalle era que a Óscar le gustaba comer la carne en el agua, no la podía dejar en el exterior en un plato 🐢. Así que como tenía un cajón de nevera viejo, en él hice un pequeño estanque con tierra y agua en el que hizo vida por al menos medio año. Aunque tenía que cambiar el agua a diario jaja 🤢.
In December of that same year (2022) I made the decision to release a now recovered and optimistic Oscar 💪🏻. I took him back to the place where I had taken him in. Going deep into the creek where the grass is much higher and a dividing wall would prevent her from returning to the road 🚗, I placed my good friend in her new habitat. As she entered the water and was surrounded by fish and life everywhere, she stuck her head out 🐟🐢, looked at me and walked into what would be her new home. Today I don't know how it is 🥺, although it's probably much better off than here in that little pond and from what I understand, in that area every so often you see turtles splashing around in the creeks and puddles 🐢🐢🐢🐢. En diciembre de ese mismo año (2022) tomé la decisión de liberar a un ya recuperado y optimista Óscar 💪🏻. Lo llevé al lugar donde lo había acogido. Adentrándome en lo profundo de la quebrada donde el pasto es mucho más alto y una pared medianera evitaría que ella volviera a la carretera 🚗, coloque a mi buen amigo en su nuevo habitad. Al entrar al agua y verse rodeado de peces y vida por doquier, sacó su cabeza 🐟🐢, me miró y se adentró en lo que sería su nuevo hogar. Hoy en día no sé cómo esté 🥺, aunque probablemente esté mucho mejor que aquí en ese pequeño estanque y por lo que tengo entendido, en esa zona cada cierto tiempo se ven a las tortugas chapotear en los riachuelos y charcos 🐢🐢🐢.
