Discover the world within a mall: Ibn Battuta Mall Dubai

avatar

Greetings, Hive Family! I hope you're all doing well. Apologies for my recent absence due to illness. Feeling much better now, I'm excited to restart our series. Today, I want to share with you one of my favorite places in Dubai: Ibn Battuta Mall.

The mall is located in the Jebel Ali area of Dubai, near the IBN Battuta Metro Station on the Red Line.
You can take the metro and get off at this station, and the mall will be a short walk away.

Alternatively, you can take a taxi or drive yourself and look for parking at the mall.
Just be aware that traffic in Dubai can be quite heavy, so allow for some extra time to reach your destination.
It is Located near Sheikh Zayed Road between interchanges 5 and 6, Ibn Battuta Mall stands out among the many malls in the UAE. It's not just a shopping center; it's a tribute to the life and travels of the renowned Arab explorer, Ibn Battuta. The mall is divided into six themed "courts," each representing a country visited by Ibn Battuta: China, India, Persia, Egypt, Tunisia, and Andalusia.

Entering from the China court, I was immediately captivated by its majestic Asian archways and intricate designs.

Here i tried Chinese chain restaurant DIN TAI FUNG: food Szechuan Shrimp and Chicken Wontons and Chicken Chow Mein which i liked a lot.

Each court offers a unique experience, with statues and displays depicting significant events and activities from Ibn Battuta's travels.

My personal favorite is the Persia court, boasting breathtaking designs, vibrant colors, and the Cafe Nero outlet in the mall.

The highlight here is the giant dome that caps the area, a true spectacle to behold.

Moving through the courts, I explored the India court with its white and gold decorations inspired by the Taj Mahal, and the Egypt court, adorned with hieroglyphs and sphinxes. While each court has its charm, the Tunisia court didn't quite resonate with me, feeling more like a maze of shops rather than a cohesive experience.

Finally, the Andalusia court, though small, offers a glimpse into Spain's history during the Muslim empire. Overall, Ibn Battuta Mall impresses not just for its shops, but for its brilliant concept and execution.

I wish more malls worldwide would follow suit, offering themed experiences that truly transport visitors. Until then, let's appreciate the uniqueness of Ibn Battuta Mall. Hope you like all these pictures. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to our next adventure together.
