On the other side of the river | Del otro lado del río (ENG/SPA)
English version
The anarchist' ideas germinate in his mind, molded by more than thirty years of socialization in the service of the state.
He was disturbed by the realization of the lies and false beliefs that tied him to misery.
He had sworn before the flag to defend the weak, to protect the borders and the environment so that the system would provide social justice.
Nevertheless, hundreds of pleading faces appeared in vivid nightmares during long nights, causing him insomnia.
Usually sitting on the edge of his bed and drenched in sweat, he questioned whether he did the right thing with every immigrant he detained.
"If, in essence, we are all brothers: Then something is wrong with the system!" he concluded at dawn that morning when he would renounce the oath.
He received the state pension for services rendered, but not without going through cumbersome bureaucratic procedures.
He thought about renouncing the supposed right, but he had no alternative: Big Brother would not leave him without questioning his mental sanity.
So, he took the best option: follow the fences of the system until he got out of the center a little. Of course, with a shackle on his back.
The days, weeks, and months went from bad to worse. So asked himself, where would the one who swore to defend life's quality?
Perhaps he had insomnia too?
Would he see haggard faces like his own?
In his case, because of the inadequacy of his pension.
It wasn't long before he tried to emigrate down the river he knew so well. But to his misfortune, he was captured by his former counterparts on the other side of the bank.
He understood then that the attempt to escape was in vain because, on the other side, a mirror was waiting for him, where he now had the opposite role.
His new anarchic ideas were only part of an illusion.

Saludos.
