A cozy afternoon at Muji

I’ve always heard people talk about MUJI, especially when it came to their beautiful notebooks and smooth-writing pens. So when I finally had the chance to visit the MUJI store in Manila, I felt like I was stepping into a place I had only seen through Instagram posts and YouTube hauls. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm, minimalist aesthetic that instantly made the space feel calm and inviting—something that MUJI is definitely known for.

Naturally, the first area I gravitated toward was the stationery section. Seeing rows of neatly arranged pens, markers, and notebooks felt like a dream. As someone who appreciates good paper and sleek designs, I found myself wanting to pick up almost everything. The simplicity of their products had this quiet charm that made even the smallest items feel special.

But what really surprised me was discovering the rest of their product line. I was ecstatic to see that MUJI wasn’t just about stationery at all. They had clothes, home essentials, kitchen items, aromatherapy goods, storage boxes, and so much more. It felt like walking into a lifestyle store where everything aligned with the idea of intentional and uncomplicated living.

The clothing section especially caught my attention. Their pieces were classic and timeless—neutral colors, soft fabrics, and clean silhouettes. I’ll admit, the prices were a bit on the higher side, even more expensive than UNIQLO. But I wasn’t too surprised. After all, Japanese brands are known for their simplicity, quality, and durability. You could tell that the clothes were made to last, not just to follow trends.

Before leaving, I took one last slow walk around the store, soaking in the cozy atmosphere. MUJI has this unique ability to make you appreciate the beauty of less—less noise, less clutter, less complication. And honestly, that’s something I didn’t know I needed until I was there.

Visiting the MUJI store in Manila wasn’t just a shopping trip; it felt like a small, peaceful escape in the middle of a busy city. I’d definitely love to go back soon—and next time, I’m bringing a bigger shopping bag.

That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!

Sending some love and light

With love, Jane

I have yet to buy any thing from Muji. It's pricey, but I've heard quality is great. It's just that there are so many alternatives available as well.

Did you buy something?

Due to time constraints, I only get to appreciate the store and moved on empty handed. Thank God hindi ako na budol haha. But friend definitely did.

How nice! I love that you used the word 'intentional.' It is apt. The organisation of the store is indeed soothing. If I worked here, I would probably float around like an angel and talk as calmly as a therapist. LOL. It looks lovely. I wonder if there's one where I am, I'll check.

Thanks for sharing such calming ambience. Cheers!
