Sunday Lunch At Manuel's Restaurant

When my family celebrates birthdays or milestone, we always go to a buffet restaurant because the variety of food excites us too much. Last weekend, we had lunch at Manuel's Restaurant inside Cebu Parklane International Hotel. The buffet set up looked fancy with different types of cuisines like Japanese, Italian, Chinese, and Mexican.




First order of business, coffee! I wanted to have something a little extra so with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, i made myself an affogato.




Since it is very common for some people to have their breakfast and lunch in one meal (brunch), they also serve some bread which would go well in other dishes.

I ate a lot of pasta and some fruits which made me consume three full plates without noticing.



However, for some reason it felt the ambiance too quite and simple. Only a few people dine during that time maybe because it was still early and most people have their cravings during dinner.



For the drinks, they serve juices more that sodas. If you know me in person, I drink neither so i opted for service water instead.

Among all the dishes, my favorite is the Carbonara pasta. Like most buffets, they have a pasta section where we assemble our own pasta, sauces, and cheese. In my own analogy, this set up is a win-win situation for both the diners and the restaurant. In the part of the diners, they get to customize their pasta specific for their likings. I personally like my pasta to have an overloaded cheese. While on the side of the restaurant, this will minimize their spoiled food since the pasta is separated from the sauce and other ingredients. Just my random thought about buffets.

Despite the simple lunch, the conversations and laughters are what made the occasion special. The price of the buffet is reasonable too.
