Naturally, I'm the type that like
all kinds of swallowed food with some delicious soup or stew.

Today I'll be talking about one of my favorite swallows, which is Okro(Ila In Yoruba), Stew(Omi Obe In Yoruba), and Cassava Flour(Amala In Yoruba) which you can get by grating your cassava, and also the health benefits of this great meal.

We call it Amala because, it is a local food we love and enjoy eating so much in the Yoruba part of my country, Nigeria.

Cassava is a starch that may be used for producing Garri, Flour, or consumed as a whole root.
Additionally, it is utilized in puddings and beverages that contain tapioca pearls. Many regions of Africa, Asia, and South America are fond of cassava.

The carbohydrate content in cassava flour is high. A cup of cassava flour (285 grams) contains 4.5 grams of sugar, 5 grams of fiber, and approximately 110 grams of carbs. One cup of it has nearly the daily recommended amount of vitamin C, making it another nutrient-rich food.

Gluten is not present in cassava flour, For those with gluten allergies or other conditions, it is a fantastic option for baking without gluten.

Okro is an adaptable vegetable that may be found everywhere.
Although it is frequently used to make soups and sauces, it can also be consumed raw. Okro is more than a simple food; it's a medicine thanks to its high vitamin, mineral, and dietary fiber content. Here are a few of Okro's excellent health advantages.

Okro is beneficial for persons on a weight loss or fitness journey and aids in weight management, This is because 100g of raw okro pods only have 30 calories and are high in dietary fibers, which makes you feel satiated.

Folic acid, which is necessary for the development of the fetus's neural tube, may be found in okro, making it a perfect food for expectant mothers.

The stew is my easy dish since it can be paired with a variety of foods, including rice, pasta, bean, yam, and more.

I'll highlight that this cuisine is distinctive not just to Nigeria, but to the entire continent of Africa. Tomatoes, Scotch Bonnet, Onions, Bell Peppers(Tatashe in Yoruba), Ginger, and Garlic are the only ingredients you'll need to get started.

Its abundance of antioxidants and minerals specifically targeted at the brain helps to lower stress and inflammation in the body.

Carotenoids from the tomatoes, bell peppers, and bonnet peppers in the colorful stew enhance immune system health and safeguard eye health.

I'm hoping that my post will help some people learn more about my local dish for the time being and inspire some of them to give it a try which I'll discuss in the preparation process in part 2 of this post. Thanks for reading.
