When you throw the ball into the train, it seems to that person that the ball is moving in a strange way, different from how it normally does on the ground. That is because your train is moving so fast.
Einstein’s theory of relativity tells us that the speed at which we move can affect the way we see things. So if we are moving very fast, time appears to pass more slowly than when we are standing still. This is a bit like when you play a race: if you run very fast, time appears to pass more slowly than when you walk slowly.
So, the theory of relativity teaches us that space and time are connected, and they can behave in strange ways when we are moving very fast or are close to very large objects, like stars. It's a bit like a special rule of the game for our universe!"
