Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town, South Africa!

I am into the 29th week of this challenging series of posts I have set myself for Thursdays!

This is the challenge I'm setting myself every Thursday: I ask for cover song requests on the MUSIC community (make a comment on this post to take part by suggesting a song for me to try), and then I pick a favourite song to learn and post a live video of me attempting to cover it. The person who asked for the winning song then gets 50% of the post rewards in HP! It's as simple as that! (Well for everyone but me - who then has to learn to sing and play a new song every week! Haha!)

I have a sad announcement to make – Next week (Number 30) will be the final instalment of the Cover Request Challenge Series for a while. It has been amazing, and I have learnt a lot, especially when it comes to learning songs quickly and simplifying them to a stripped back acoustic performance. Thank you to everyone who has requested songs! Now it is time to focus on my/our song writing and recording with my Musical Duo MobeyDick with @clairemobey, as well a to focus more on work which has become quite busy!

So please! Let’s have some wonderful requests for the final episode!

The winner this penultimate week is @jesus-son! He is from Nigeria and set me quite an ambitious challenge – “The Power of Love” by Celine Dion! Yikes!

So, there were two things I had to do:

1. Sing a full octave lower than Celine Dion, with her famous angelic but high, powerful voice!
2. Change the main line from “I am your lady and you are my man” to “You are my lady and I am your man”…

And then, sure, why not give it a go?
