Hello everybody on Hive and especially the Hive Open Mic Community! My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town in South Africa! Welcome to Week 153 of the Hive Open Mic Challenge. The theme for the week is “You are With Me”!

The theme makes me think of a love-song. I am taking part in Three Tune Tuesday (an initiative by @ablaze) every Tuesday, and yesterday I decided to cover three Bob Dylan songs. Now obviously, Bob Dylan is one of the most prolific songwriters in the world, and it was hard to choose only three!

One of the ones I was very sad about leaving out yesterday was “Make You Feel My Love”, which Bob Dylan released in 1997 on his album “Time Out of Mind”. According to Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Make_You_Feel_My_Love) the song has become a standard, with all sorts of famous people covering it from Michael Buble to more recently, Adele. In fact, apparently Phil Collins managed to cover it and then release it about a month before Bob’s version!!

Listen to the song, and perhaps you can see why people love to cover it? It is beautiful and very nice to sing! Here’s the Bob Dylan version. Do you have a favourite cover version by a famous artist?

El tema me hace pensar en una canción de amor. Participo en Three Tune Tuesday (una iniciativa de @ablaze) todos los martes, y ayer decidí hacer un cover de tres canciones de Bob Dylan. Ahora, obviamente, Bob Dylan es uno de los compositores más prolíficos del mundo, ¡y fue difícil elegir solo tres!

Uno de los que me entristeció mucho dejar fuera ayer fue “Make You Feel My Love”, que Bob Dylan lanzó en 1997 en su disco “Time Out of Mind”. Según Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Make_You_Feel_My_Love), la canción se ha convertido en un estándar, con todo tipo de personas famosas que la versionan, desde Michael Bublé hasta, más recientemente, Adele. De hecho, ¡aparentemente Phil Collins logró cubrirlo y luego lanzarlo aproximadamente un mes antes que la versión de Bob!
