Hello everybody on Hive and especially the Hive Open Mic Community! My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town in South Africa.

Welcome to Week 207 of the Hive Open Mic Challenge. The theme for this week is “Who is Missed”!

For those of you who don’t know, I’ve decided to alter my Three Tune Tuesday posts to be based around the Hive Open Mic theme of the week, and how I would go about tackling it. Well, a lot of songs are about missing somebody. I’ve written one or two myself! I recommended:

• “Ain’t No Sunshine” by Bill Withers
• “Hello” by Adele
• “Hey There Delilah” by Plain White Ts

“Ain’t No Sunshine” by Bill Withers is by far the oldest, and has become a classic Jazz standard. I’m pretty sure most people who learn to play guitar try their hand at this chord progression at some point.

However, it has actually been many years since I last tried to play this song, almost because of that fact… it is almost a cliché to play it now! So, I’m interested to see what I remember, and if I can add any of my own particular flavour to have fun with the song, which is very clearly about missing somebody… Here goes!

Bueno, muchas canciones tratan sobre extrañar a alguien. ¡Yo mismo he escrito uno o dos! Yo recomendé:

• “No hay sol” de Bill Withers
• “Hola” de Adele
• “Hola Delilah” de Plain White Ts

“Ain’t No Sunshine” de Bill Withers es, con diferencia, el más antiguo y se ha convertido en un clásico del jazz. Estoy bastante seguro de que la mayoría de las personas que aprenden a tocar la guitarra prueban esta progresión de acordes en algún momento.

Sin embargo, en realidad han pasado muchos años desde la última vez que intenté tocar esta canción, casi por ese hecho… ¡es casi un cliché tocarla ahora! Entonces, me interesa ver qué recuerdo, y si puedo agregar algo de mi sabor particular para divertirme con la canción, que es muy claramente sobre extrañar a alguien… ¡Aquí va!
