1899 | May your coffee kick in, before reality does

I saw it in its entirety on the day of its premiere and since I finished watching it very late, it was hard for me to fall asleep because the medication had worn off. The only thing I knew was that it was about a lost ship and strange things were starting to happen on another ship with the main characters that we were going to meet little by little. I tried during the whole series to find an explanation for everything I saw, but I never succeeded, besides, I did not do it with the seriousness it required, because you know that this series is made by the same creators of Dark, so no matter how much theorizing about what was happening, the reality was going to end up being very different, so I did not torture myself and I watched the series enjoying it as much as possible.

1899 is about many things, as we will have more than half a dozen protagonists, more than half a dozen stories that we are going to know little by little, with which we will have to deal and we will not know when they will leave our system, but despite that, everything is going to have a starting point, and it is the following: many people of many nationalities paid a 7-day trip to a different continent, they travel on the ship Kerberos, but since 4 months ago the ship Prometheus is missing, which belongs to the same company, almost halfway the Kerberos begins to receive a message with some coordinates, They decide to investigate it and they find the lost ship, the Prometheus, and at the very moment they find the lost ship many strange things begin to happen, that not only change the course of the trip, but also the lives of those who board the Kerberos.

La vi completa el día de su estreno y como la terminé de ver muy tarde me costó dormirme porque ya se me había pasado el efecto de la medicación. Yo lo único que sabía era que trataba de un barco perdido y cosas raras comenzaban a suceder en otro barco con los protagonistas que íbamos a ir conociendo poco a poco. Traté durante toda la serie de buscarle explicación a todo lo que veía, pero nunca lo logré, además, no lo hacía con la seriedad que requería, porque ya se sabe que esta serie está hecha por los mismos creadores de Dark, así que sin importar cuánto se teorizara sobre lo que estuviera pasando, la realidad iba a terminar siendo otra muy diferente, así que no me torturé y vi la serie disfrutándola lo más posible.

1899 trata de muchas cosas, pues tendremos más de media docena de protagonistas, más de media docena de historias que vamos a ir conociendo poco a poco, con las que tendremos que lidiar y no sabremos cuándo saldrán de nuestro sistema, pero a pesar de eso, todo va a tener un punto de partida, y es el siguiente: muchas personas de muchas nacionalidades pagarón un viaje de 7 días hacia un continente diferente, viajan en el barco Kerberos, pero desde hace 4 meses el barco Prometheus está desaparecido, que justamente pertenece a la misma compañía, casi a la mitad del camino el Kerberos comienza a recibir un mensaje con unas coordenadas, deciden investigarlo y se encuentran con el barco perdido, el Prometheus, y en el justo momento en que se encuentran con el barco perdido muchas cosas extrañas comienzan a suceder, que no solo cambian el rumbo del viaje, si no de las vidas de quienes abordan el Kerberos.

It was nice to see Andreas Pietschmann again, I missed him since Dark, and while I think I saw the trailer once many months before the series premiered, it was in the first episode of the series that I recognized him and it was like seeing an old love. I loved his performance here too, I have to say, he almost made me cry once when we learn his story, or at least the beginning of it, seeing him cry was too much for my little heart and I almost cried with him, it was awful. I say this in general terms, everyone's performances were amazing, there is not one that made me doubt or believe it could have been better, all of them were very good, others more amazing than even expected. A marvel in this series.

One of my favorite things were the introductions of the chapters, not the intro of the series, no, but each chapter began with a person reliving some event of his life and suddenly woke up, each chapter began with a different person and that was a wonder, but that did not mean that chapter would be focused on that story and that person in specific, because all the stories and all the people will gradually be more and more mixed up, it got to a point where I got completely confused because the story of two people were mixed up and I thought one was dead and was a ghost on the boat, but no, both people were alive and no one was a ghost at any time.

Fue muy lindo volver a ver a Andreas Pietschmann, lo extrañaba desde Dark, y si bien creo que vi el trailer una vez muchos meses antes de que se estrenara la serie, fue en el primer capítulo de la serie que lo reconocí y fue como ver a un antiguo amor. Amé su actuación aquí también, debo decirlo, casi me hace llorar una vez, cuando conocemos su historia, o al menos el principio de esta, verlo llorar fue mucho para mi corazoncito y casi lloro con él, fue horrible. Digo esto en términos generales, las actuaciones de todes fueron increíbles, no hay ninguna que me haya hecho dudar o creer que pudo haber sido mejor, todas fueran muy buenas, otras más increíbles de lo que incluso se esperaba. Una maravilla esta serie.

Una de mis cosas favortias fueron las introducciones de los capítulos, no la intro de la serie, no, si no que cada capítulo comenzaba con una persona reviviendo algún suceso de su vida y de repente se despertaba, cada capítulo comenzaba con una persna diferente y eso fue una maravilla, igual eso no significaba que ese capítulo estaría centrado en esa historia y esa persona en específico, porque todas las historias y todas las personas poco a poco estarán más y más mezcladas, llegó un punto en que me confundí por completo porque la historia de dos personas estaban mezcladas de verdad y pensé que una estaba muerta y era un fantasma en el barco, pero no, ambas personas estaban vivas y nadie era un fantasma en ningún momento.

Do not try to understand the series because you will end up with a headache, really, with the passage of the chapters everything will become extremely confusing, but at the same time little by little you will understand everything that happens, or at least that's what we come to believe, because as with Dark, this series has plot twists within plot twists, then, at the time that we explain something, it turns out that there is something else behind it, then what we understood no longer serves us because now it is different, and once we understand the new thing the same thing happens again, so enough, do like me, watch the series, make your assumptions, but do not get obsessed or you may become disappointed when the series explains itself, we would never come to any conclusion that is close to the reality of the series, it may be a remote possibility, but there are so many remote possibilities that we do not know what will be the real one.

I can't think of anything I didn't like, it even had a gay couple, I mean, for things like that I loved it more than I should, although there is something I don't like, I know it has less than a week of being released, but I still don't like that they haven't confirmed a second and third season, I mean, they leave the series with only one season and Netflix dies entirely in my heart, they should confirm it quickly, to watch it again and try to understand more things than I understood, because although it is not so complicated, it confuses too much.

No intenten entender la serie porque van a terminar con un dolor de cabeza, de verdad, con el paso de los capítulos todo se hará sumamente confuso, pero a la vez poco a poco se irá entendiendo todo lo que sucede, o al menos eso llegamos a creer, porque al igual que con Dark, esta serie tiene giros argumentales dentro de los giros argumentales, entonces, en el momento en el que nos explican algo, resulta que hay algo más detrás de eso, entonces lo que entendimos ya no nos sirve porque ahora es diferente, y una vez entendemos lo nuevo vuelve a suceder lo mismo, así que basta, hagan como yo, vean la serie, hagan sus supocisiones, pero no se obsesionen o pueden llegar a decepcionarse cuando la serie se explique a sí misma, igual nunca llegaríamos a alguna conclusión que se acerque a la realidad de la serie, puede ser una posibilidad remota, pero hay tantas posibilidades remotas que no sabemos cuál será la verdadera.

No se me ocurre nada que no me haya gustado, hasta una pareja gay tuvo, o sea, por cosas como esa me encantó más de lo que debería, aunque sí hay algo que no me gusta, sé que tiene menos de una semana de haberse estrenado, pero igual no me gusta que no hayan confirmado una segunda y tercera temporada, o sea, llegan a dejar la serie con solo una temporada y Netflix muere por completo en mi corazón, que la confirmen rápido, para volver a verla y tratar de entender más cosas de las que entendí, pues si bien no es tan complicada, confunde demasiado.

I still don't know how to react to that ending, it's everything, it surprised me, but so much was already happening in the series, that the ending had to be this giant and meaningful, it couldn't be any other way, because then it would have minimized how giant everything was before the end, this ending completely changed the vision we had of what was happening and made it better, giving us the promise that everything would continue to expand and become more complex, so that's the only thing we can come to expect when they make the second season, which will surely leave us with more questions than answers as this season because I'm just coming out of the lethargy in which it left me.

Watch the trailer, do not look for the explanation of the end, watch the series, and do not read reviews with spoilers, because surely they will create expectations that perhaps the series does not meet, not because it is not good or is not up to par, if that many times people do create a huge hype and we believe it, but when we see the reality of the series we realize that it is perfect, but it is incorrect how they express themselves about it, whether with spoilers or not, here spoilers do not matter, but the end of the season has to be a sin to say it, everything that happens before is fine because it is not understood, even if it is understood, after Dark everything is simple, even Dark.

Yo aún no sé cómo reaccinar ante ese final, es de todo, me sorprendió, pero es que ya estaba pasando tanto en la serie, que el final tenía que ser así de gigante y significativo, no podía ser de otra forma, porque entonces hubiera minimizado lo gigante que era todo antes del final, este final cambió por completo la visión que teníamos de lo que estaba sucediendo y lo mejoró, dándonos la promesa de que todo seguiría expandiéndose y se convertiría en algo más complejo, así que eso es lo único que podemos llegar a esperar cuando hagan la segunda temporada, que seguramente nos dejará con más preguntas que respuestas como esta temporada, porque apenas es que salgo del letargo en el que me dejó.

Vean el trailer, no busquen la explicación del final, vean la serie, no lean reseñas con spoilers, porque seguramente les van a crear expectativas que quizás la serie no cumpla, no porque no sea buena o no esté a la altura, si que muchas veces la gente hace crea un hype inmenso y nos lo creemos, pero al ver la realidad de la serie nos damos cuenta de que es muy buena, pero es incorrecta la forma en que se expresan sobre la misma, sea con spoilers o no, igual aquí no importan los spoilers, pero el final de temporada sí tiene que ser pecado decirlo, todo lo que sucede antes está bien porque igual no se entiende, aunque sí se entienda, después de Dark todo es sencillo, incluso Dark.
