He's Expecting | Yes, a man is pregnant in this serie, and I love it

I was about to put this series on hold, which means I wasn't going to watch it for a long time, and I'm thankful I didn't, because FUCK, the series is too good, the title caught my attention from the beginning, although more than the title, it was the cover image, because I hadn't seen the trailer before watching the series either, and just because of that I started watching it, the cover had a pregnant man, beyond that in the title one could think it when assuming that Kentaro is a man's name. There is a before and an after having watched this series, but I'll say that later, not right now.

I have conflicted feelings about the Netflix synopsis, because it's useless, so I'll give you something along the lines of what comes up on IMDB. Kentaro works in an advertising company and each time his career is progressing better and better, until out of nowhere he gets pregnant and his life changes completely, as he has to make the most important decision, abort or keep the baby and have it, plus he starts to experience many social inequalities he never thought of before. Yes, a pregnant man, it's no big deal, so stop screaming and horrified as if you were seeing the antichrist in person.

Estuve a punto de poner esta serie en espera, lo que significa que no la iba a ver en mucho tiempo, y agradezco no haberlo hecho, porque ¡JODER!, la serie es demasiado buena, el título llamó mi atención desde un principio, aunque más que el título, fue la imagen de portada, porque tampoco había visto el trailer antes de ver la serie, y solo por eso la comencé a ver, la portada tenía a un hombre embarazado, más allá de que en el título uno pudiera pensarlo al asumir que Kentaro ees un nombre de hombre. Hay un antes y un después de haber visto esta serie, pero eso lo diré más adelante, ahorita no.

Tengo sentimientos en conflicto con respecto a la sinopsis de Netflix, porque no sirve para nada, así que les daré algo parecido a lo que sale en IMDB. Kentaro trabaja en una empresa de publicidad y cada vez su carreja avanza mejor, hasta que de la nada él queda embarazado y su vida cambia por completo, pues tiene que tomar la decisión más importante, abortar o conservar al bebé y tenerlo, además de que comienza a experimentar muchas desigualdades sociales que nunca antes había pensado. Sí, un hombre embarazado, no es nada del otro mundo, así que deja de gritar y horrizarte como si estuvieras viendo al anticristo en persona.

I loved this series and I still love it, that hasn't changed, but many things changed since I saw it until I decided to do this review. I thought I would say all this later, but no, that moment has come at the beginning. For me the series has nothing weird about it, it is completely normal that the premise is that a man gets pregnant and because of that he starts to experience new things that he had not experienced before, in whatever field, but for the world it is not like that, and that was my slip, to say it in a way, because it is not a mistake, it will never be a mistake to do something like that.

When I entered IMDB I was surprised to see that the score it had was 1.6/10, I was expecting at least a 6.5/10, but not a 1.6/10, and while I was laughing I started scrolling down looking for the review they usually show, and I laughed even more, because the review said that those were not god things, that this series was bad in the name of the bible and any other idiocy of that style. I love the series, no doubt about it, but seeing that review and that score only made my love grow infinitely and I find myself writing this while my face hurts from laughing so much. Yes, the world sucks, at least most of it, and they're not ready to watch a series where a man gets pregnant, trans or not.

Amé esta serie y la sigo amando, eso no ha cambiado, pero muchas cosas cambiaron desde que la vi hasta que decidí hacer esta reseña. Pensé que diría todo esto después, mas no, ese momento ha llegado al principio. Para mí la serie no tiene nada raro, es completamente normal que la premisa sea que un hombre quede embarazado y que por eso comience a experimentar cosas nuevas que no había experimentado antes, sean en el ámbito que sean, pero para el mundo no es así, y ese fue mi desliz, por decirlo de cierta forma, porque error no es, nunca será un error hacer algo así.

Al entrar a IMDB me sorprendió ver que el puntaje que tenía era de 1.6/10, esperaba al menos un 6.5/10, pero no un 1.6/10, y mientras me reía comencé a bajar buscando la reseña que suelen mostrar, y me reí más aún, pues la reseña decía que esas no eran cosas de dios, que esta serie era mala en el nombre de la biblia y cualquier otra idiotez de ese estilo. Yo amo la serie, sin duda alguna, pero ver esa reseña y ese puntaje solo hizo que mi amor creciera infinitamente y me encuentre escribiendo esto mientras me duele la cara de tanto reírme. Sí, el mundo es una mierda, al menos la mayoría, y no están preparados para ver una serie donde un hombre queda embarazado, sea trans o no.

I continue, Aki is the woman with whom Kentaro had sex when he got pregnant, she lives in a completely different reality where she is a freelance writer, but works for magazines that force her to comply with unexpected time limits that are not agreed, few places where she can write, and above all, no visibility because the articles are them for the magazines and they do not give her the credit she deserves.

Two people who only see each other on a few occasions, two completely different people, abortion is the first option, and it is planned, it only remains to be seen if Kentaro actually carries it out or not, and I loved that she needed the mother's signature to proceed with the abortion, that was one of the first bureaucratic situations that Kentaro had to go through in that pregnancy.

Esta serie es muy real, tan real que asusta, y por eso se la estoy recomendando a mucha gente, al menos gente que es de mente abierta y no pensaría que es una abominación el hecho de que un hombre quede embarazado, por ejemplo. Los personajes son representaciones fieles de hombres y mujeres modernos que viven en la misma sociedad, pero sus experiencias son completamente diferentes, con familias diferentes, que sin saberlo, los han formado para aceptar y rechazar una realidad que es buena para unos y mala para otros, y que eso parezca que es inalterable sin posibilidades de cambios inmediatos.

Kentaro como hombre ya vive en una burbuja llena de privilegios que nada va a cambiar, pero embarazarse es algo que no esperaba, y que le hace enfrentar miles de situaciones que las mujeres pasan siempre y de las que no se les permite quejarse porque son mujeres y deben aguantarse, joder, qué arrechera. Continúo, Aki es la mujer con la que Kentaro tuvo sexo cuando quedó embarazado, vive en uma realidad completamente diferente donde es una escritora independiente, pero trabaja para revistas que la obligan a cumplir con límites de tiempo inesperados que no son los acordados, pocos lugares donde poder escribir, y sobre todo, nada de visibilidad porque los artículos son ellos para las revistas y no le dan el crédito que merece.

Dos personas que solo se ven en pocas ocasiones, dos personas diferentes por completo, el aborto es la primera opción, y se planea, solo queda ver si de verdad Kentaro la lleva a cabo o no, y me encantó que necesitara la firma de la madre para poder proceder con el aborto, esa fue una de las primeras situaciones burocráticas que tuvo que pasar Kentaro en ese embarazo.

By trying to be something that shouldn't be, I mean at the beginning it feels like the fact that men always try to meddle where they are not called, getting attention for things they shouldn't, and yes, they show it from the beginning like that, I came to despise Kentaro many times, it didn't matter, he redeemed himself as a good person, as a good man, even though he did things wrong again later and had to be being taught like a little kid the reality of things.

I want to tell you more, but no, I'm going to leave it until this last paragraph. This series is fiction, it's not about a trans man who got pregnant, I should clarify, though I'm only doing it because I have to, and that's not a spoiler, mind you, I haven't said spoilers when this time I really should, as the series lends itself to a perfect debate. I continue, this series is fiction, it takes place in a parallel universe where men started getting pregnant out of nowhere, it takes place in 2023, and it's been over 50 years since the first pregnancy of a non-trans man was recorded. That information put the whole series in perspective and that's why I could appreciate it in a completely different way, and only for that reason I love it, because here the men are the same as in reality, mostly disgusting, and do not feel like watching the whole series, but it's worth it, I assure you, it's worth it.

Durante los primeros capítulos sentí que la serie estaba intentando ser algo que no debería, pero es algo que aclaran poco a poco, quizás para darnos tiempo de acostumbrarnos, de decidir si seguir viendo o no, pero yo lo hice y me gustó el desarrollo de la historia, nada del otro mundo, es muy normal en ese aspecto. Con intentar ser algo que no debería ser, me refiero a que al principio se siente como el hecho de que los hombres siempre tratan de meterse donde no los llaman, obteniendo atención por cosas que no deberían, y sí, lo muestran desde un principio así, llegué a despreciar a Kentaro muchas veces, no importaba, él se redimía como buena persona, como buen hombre, aunque volvía a hacer las cosas mal después y se le tenía que estar enseñando como a un niño pequeño la realidad de las cosas.

Quiero hablarles más, pero no, lo voy a dejar hasta este último párrafo. Esta serie es ficción, no trata sobre un hombre trans que quedó embarazado, debo aclararlo, aunque solo lo hago porque debo, y eso no es un spoiler, conste, no he dicho spoilers cuando esta vez sí debería hacerlo, pues la serie se presta para un debate perfecto. Continúo, esta serie es ficción, tiene lugar en un universo paralelo donde los hombres comenzaron a quedar embarazados de la nada, tiene lugar en el 2023, y hace más de 50 años que se registró el primer embarazo de un hombre no trans. Esa información puse en perspectiva toda la serie y por eso la pude apreciar de una forma completamente distinta, y solo por eso la amo, porque aquí los hombres son iguales a los de la realidad, un asco en su mayoría, y no dan ganas de verla completa, pero vale la pena, se los aseguro, lo vale.
