Oni: Thunder God's Tale | Better than expected

Just like Gudetama, this is another series that I wanted to watch and of which I had gotten many times the publicity, as Gudetama was shorter than I expected and the night was young, I started watching Oni, and from the moment I realized that it was made with stop motion I fell in love, plus I watched the whole thing in one sitting, plus you have to take into account that it is a miniseries of only 4 chapters, no more than 50 minutes each, so I almost didn't finish watching it in one sitting, it was done later than I expected, but just imagine how good it is that it made me not fall asleep until it was over.

In this miniseries we will meet Onari and Naridon, a family that lives in the mountains and is part of the Kami, a series of creatures that are part of the stories and Japanese culture, we will find many types of Kami, which in turn each have a different type of Kushi, which can be defined as ability or power, all this is relevant because the day of the Demon Moon is approaching, where the moon will turn completely red and an evil Oni will attack the village where they live, destroying and devouring everyone, so all the Kami have to join forces and face the evil Oni to save their lives and continue living in peace, but it will not be easy, because Onari does not know what her Kushi is, so we will have to accompany her on this journey where many truths will see the light, changing the lives of all the Kami living in the village, even around the world.

Así como Gudetama, esta es otra serie que quería ver y de la cual me había salido muchas veces la publicidad, como Gudetama fue más corta de lo que esperaba y la noche era joven, comencé a ver Oni, y desde el momento en el que me di cuenta de que estaba hecha con stop motion me enamoré, además de que la vi completa de una sola vez, además de que hay que tener en cuenta que es una miniserie de tan solo 4 capítulos, no más de 50 minutos cada uno, así que casi no la termino de ver de una vez, se hizo más tarde de lo que esperaba, pero tan solo imaginen lo buena que es que hizo que no me durmiera hasta que terminara.

En esta miniserie conoceremos a Onari y Naridon, una familia que vive en las montañas y forma parte de los Kami, una serie de criaturas que forman parte de los cuentos y la cultura japonesa, encontraremos muchos tipos de Kami, que a su vez cada uno tienen un diferente tipo de Kushi, que se puede definir como habilidad o poder, todo esto es relevante porque se acerca el día de la Luna del Demonio, donde la luna se volverá completamente roja y un Oni malvado atacará la aldea donde viven, destrozando y devorando a todos, así que todos los Kami tienen que unir fuerzas y enfrentarse al malvado Oni para así salvar sus vidas y seguir viviendo en paz, pero no será fácil, pues Onari no sabe cuál es su Kushi, así que tendremos que acompañarla en este viaje donde muchas verdades verán la luz, cambiando la vida de todos los Kami que viven en la aldea, incluso en todo el mundo.

As with Gudetama, I didn't expect much from this miniseries, but from the beginning, I knew I was seeing something magnificent, a chase, Oni demons chasing the Kami, and suddenly the appearance of fireflies that have another name in the series, and right from the bridge that the Kami should never cross because it leads to the world of the Oni, right there Naridon appears together with a baby Onari, and then a jump in time of 10 years, and since that appearance of Naridon and Onari in the middle of a storm I fell in love with the miniseries and that love was growing and growing until the end, which made me cry, and I'm here trying not to cry remembering it.

The story is beautiful, and perfectly written, the narration is incredible, and together with the mix of 3D animation and stop motion they created an amazing miniseries. Onari is a 10-year-old girl who is constantly under a lot of pressure and scrutiny from the rest of the Kami, because with that training to make them know her power, her Kushi, and thus protect the village, Onari doesn't have her Kushi yet, she doesn't know it yet, so if she was already marginalized and had only one friend, Kappa, seeing that she can't show any power the rest of the kids are going to make fun of her more than they already do.

Al igual que con Gudetama, no esperaba mucho de esta miniserie, pero desde el principia ya sabía que estaba viendo algo magnífico, una persecución, demonios oni persiguiendo a los Kami, y de repente la aparación de unas luciérnagas que tienen otro nombre en la serie, y justo desde el puente que los Kami nunca deben cruzar pues lleva al mundo de los Oni, justo ahí aparece Naridon junto a una bebé Onari, y después un salto en el tiempo de 10 años, ya desde ese aparición de Naridon y Onari en medio de una tormenta me enamoré de la miniseie y ese amor fue creciendo y creciendo hasta el final, que me hizo llorar, y estoy aquí tratando de no llorar recordándolo.

La historia es hermosa, y está perfectamente escrita, la narración es increíble y junto a la mezcla de la animación 3D y el stop motion crearon una miniserie increíble. Onari es una niña de 10 años que está constantemente bajo mucha presión y escrutinio del resto de los Kami, porque con ese entrenamiento para hacer que conozcan su poder, su Kushi, y así proteger a la aldea, Onari no tiene todavía su Kushi, no lo conoce todavía, por lo que si ya era marginada y tenía un solo amigo, Kappa, al ver que no puede demostrar poder alguno el resto de los niños se va a burlar de ella más de lo que ya lo hacen.

Her classmates make fun of her because of her dad, because of Naridon, because he is a Kami completely different from the rest, he is a hippie, he spends all day in the forest, dancing, and playing with the animals, and since he doesn't speak, almost everything is expressed with his facial expressions, he is a pure soul that doesn't care about anything people say, that's why he does what he wants and what he likes, he almost made me cry once when they were being cruel to him and Onari at school, and he didn't pay attention to them or simply didn't understand what was going on around him, children can be crueler than we may think.

My favorite character is the yellow umbrella who is Onari's classmate, I don't remember her name, but you'll see her in the trailer, her attitude and the way she talks killed me with laughter, she's a little bitch too, but you can forgive her; Kappa, Onari's only friend, is also one of my favorites, he's a cute and beautiful little green thing that every time he drops water from his head he shuts down and faints, so they have to constantly pour water on him so he can stay conscious, the first time it happened I thought he died, but no, false alarm, he just stayed without water.

Sus compañeros de clase se burlan de ella por su papá, por Naridon, pues él es un Kami completamente diferente al resto, es un hippie, se la pasa todo el día en el bosque, bailando, jugando con los animales, y como no habla, casi todo lo expresa con sus expresiones faciales, es un alma pura que no le importa nada de lo que diga la gente, por eso hace lo que quiere y lo que le gusta, casi me hace llorar una vez cuando estaban siendo crueles con él y Onari en la escuela, y él no les prestaba atención o simplemente no entendía lo que sucedía a su alrededor, los niños pueden ser más crueles de lo que podemos llegar a pensar.

Mi personaje favorito es la sombrilla amarilla que es compañera de Onari, no recuerdo su nombre, pero ya la verán en el trailer, su actitud y la forma en que habla me mataban de la risa, es una desgraciadita también, pero se le perdona; Kappa, el único amigo de Onari, también es de mis favoritos, es una cosita verde tierna y hermosa que cada vez que se le cae el agua de la cabeza se apaga y se desmaya, así que tienen que echarle agua constantemente para que pueda permanecer consciente, la primera vez que le sucedió pensé que se había muerto, pero no, falsa alarma, solo se quedó si agua.

I can't tell you much about what happens, not because it's a spoiler, but because you have to see it, the intensity with which it will reveal the different types of people and how they react to different types of situations, we will see people we thought were good doing very bad things, we will see how fear can take over people, revealing the darkest part of their beings, when in reality they are not like that and they are just being carried away by prejudices and stereotypes that they have all their lives believing and they don't know how to react when they have them in front of them, it becomes very strong, it made me cry, and I calmed down, and then it made me cry more, it was horrible, you have to see it.

The trailer is beautiful, it reflects very well the character of the miniseries, so watch it with confidence, then go watch the 4 chapters and fall in love with the story, the duality of the characters, the secrets they hide, their reactions when the truths are known, everything is perfectly done, it is a miniseries that we have to watch at least once in life, so go watch it, please.

No les puedo hablar mucho de lo que sucede, no porque sea spoiler, si no porque tienen que verla, la intensidad con la que se revelará los diferentes tipos de personas y cómo estas reaccionan ante diferentes tipos de situaciones, veremos a gente que creíamos buenas hacer cosas muy malas, veremos cómo el miedo se puede apoderar de las personas, revelando la parte más oscuras de sus seres, cuando en realidad no son así y solo se están dejando llevar por prejuicios y estereotipos que tienen toda la vida creyendo y no saben cómo reaccionar cuando los tienen en frente, llega a ser muy fuerte, me hizo llorar, y me calmé, y después me hizo llorar más, fue horrible, tienen que verla.

El trailer es una hermosura, refleja muy bien el carácter de la miniserie, así que veanlo con confianza, después vayan a ver los 4 capítulos y enamórense de la historia, la dualidad de los personajes, los secretos que esconden, sus reacciones cuando las verdades se saben, todo está perfectamente hecho, es una miniserie que tenemos que ver al menos una vez en la vida, así que vayan a verla, por favor.
