Super Drags | Time to tuck

I had completely forgotten the existence of this series, and I had to remember the existence of Q-Force, another Netflix lgbtqia+ series to remember Super Drags, because of the little I remember, well I remember almost nothing, I do not know how the fuck I got to see Super Drags, I think it was one of the series that Netflix recommended me after finishing watching Q-Force, but I do not remember for sure, the only certainty is that I enjoyed it more than I expected and I loved it too much.

Super Drags is about three Drag Queens who by day are one, and by night are another.... Nah, that's a lie, but they do have double lives, in one they are ordinary men who work in a store, and in the other they are Drag Queens who fight against evil, sometimes they are rude customers, sometimes an old Drag Queen, sometimes they are themselves, but the most important of all is that they have to look fabulous at all times, because looking bad would mean total defeat.

Había olvidado por completo la existencia de esta serie, y tuve que recordar la existencia de Q-Force, otra serie lgbtqia+ de Netflix para acordarme de Super Drags, pues de lo poco que recuerdo, pues no recuerdo casi nada, es que no sé cómo carajos llegué a ver Super Drags, creo que fue una de las series que me recomendó Netflix después de terminar de ver Q-Force, pero no lo recuerdo con certeza, lo único cierto es que lo disfruté más de lo que esperaba y me encantó demasiado.

Super Drags trata que sobre tres Drag Queens que de día son unas, y de noche son otras... Nah, eso es mentira, pero sí tienen doble vida, en una son hombres comunes y corrientes que trabajan en una tienda, y en la otra son Drag Queens que luchan contra el mal, a veces son clientes maleducados, a veces es una Drag Queen vieja, a veces son ellas mismas, pero lo más importante de todo es que se tienen que ver fabulosas en todo momento, pues verse mal ya significaría la derrota total.

Knowing Netflix I was expecting a series completely full of clichés, stereotypes, retrograde, made more to humiliate with out of place jokes and an absolute ridiculing of men who are Drag Queens, and from chapter one it slapped me in the face, left me crazy and gagging with dripping makeup. The comedy is exquisite, it has its ups and downs, nothing new, but I loved it very much, a person outside the world of Drag may overlook many of the hidden jokes and references it has, but it is not something that prevents its enjoyment, it has enough jokes and references of all kinds so that anyone can be entertained enough.

Also, the series is Brazilian, and it's perfect in the original Portuguese, I watched it subtitled because I don't know Portuguese, so if you watch the series like this, it will be the best, and I find it amazing that the English dubbing was done by Trixie Mattel, Shangela, Willam, and Ginger Minj, Drag Queens who went through the Drag show, RuPaul's Drag Race, which I love even if I don't watch it, and to finish all this with a flourish, Pabllo Vittar plays Goldiva, the pop singer of the moment who makes all the gays love each other, and not only that, but she has two songs in the series that are amazing, I love them.

Conociendo a Netflix yo esperaba una serie por completo llena de clichés, estereotipos, retrógrada, hecha más para humillar con chistes fuera de lugar y una ridiculización absoluta de los hombres que son Drag Queens, y desde el capítulo uno me dio una cachetada, me dejó loca y gageando con el maquillaje chorreado. La comedia es exquisita, tiene sus altos y bajos, nada nuevo, pero me encantó muchísimo, una persona ajena al mundo del Drag puede que pase por alto muchos de los chistes escondidos y de las referencias que tiene, pero no es algo que impida su disfrute, tiene suficientes chistes y referencias de todo tipo como para que cualquier persona pueda entretenerse lo suficiente.

Además, la serie es brasilera, y es perfecta en el portugues original, la vi subtitulada porque no sé portugues, así que si ven la serie así, será lo mejor, y me parece increíble que el doblaje al inglés haya sido hecho por Trixie Mattel, Shangela, Willam, y Ginger Minj, Drag Queens que pasaron por el programa de Drag, RuPaul's Drag Race, cosa que amo aunque no vea, y para finalizar todo esto con broche de oro, Pabllo Vittar hace de Goldiva, la cantante pop del momento que hace que todos los gays se amen entre sí, y no solo eso, si no que tiene dos canciones en la serie que son increíbles, me encantan.

Super Drags has only 5 episodes, so you can easily watch it in a couple of hours, relax and have fun while watching three Brazilian Drag Queens face evil being fabulous and divine. One of the things I did not expect from the series was to have serious and emotional moments, they are very few, but brutal, the last chapter almost made me cry, but it made me get too excited and with that the series did its job, because not only made me enjoy it and move me, besides giving me many laughs, but it stayed with me enough for me to do this review, although I have forgotten about the series for more than a year.

One of the messages that the series handles in a very good way, is that the worst enemy of gays are the gays themselves, because even though the acceptance and normalization of our existence has been fighting for a long time, besides having equality at a legal level, gays are always the first to come out and criticize other gays, for such useless and insignificant things as their physical appearance, their tastes or the way they decide to live their lives; Super Drags is going to send all that to hell and we will be happy that it is so.

Super Drags tiene tan solo 5 capítulos, así que la pueden ver facilmente en un par de horas, se relajan y se divierten mientras ven a tres Drag Queens brasileñas enfrentarse al mal siendo fabulosas y divinas. Una de las cosas que no esperé de la serie fue que tuviera momentos serios y emocionales, son muy pocos, pero brutales, el último capítulo casi me hizo llorar, pero sí me hizo emocionarme demasiado y ya con eso la serie cumplió su cometido, pues no solo me hizo disfrutarla y conmoverme, además de darme muchas risas, si no que se quedó conmigo lo suficiente como para que le hiciera esta reseña, aunque me haya olvidado de la serie como por más de un año.

Uno de los mensajes que la serie maneja de una muy buena forma, y es que el peor enemigo de los gays son los mismos gays, porque si bien selleva luchando demasiado tiempo la aceptación y la normalización de nuestras existencias, además de tener igualdad a nivel legal, los gays siempre son los primeros en salir y criticar a otros gays, por cosas tan inútiles e insignificantes como el especto físico, sus gustos o la forma en que deciden vivir sus vidas; Super Drags va a mandar a la mierdaa todo eso y estaremos felices de que sea así.

This is a series to watch without any kind of expectation that you end up enjoying more than you thought possible, don't judge it before watching it, I did and it didn't give me good results. Also, it is super relaxed, it doesn't need great concentration to understand it, the references to pop culture and other animated series are not going to be missing, and it's as if any series like Madoka Magica, La Chichas Superpoderoas or Sailor Moon, had merged with RuPaul's Drag Race, and that is something that is totally worth to be seen.

Esta es una serie para ver sin ningún tipo de expectativa que se termina disfrutando más de lo que se creía posible, no la juzguen antes de verla, yo lo hice y no me dio buenos resultados. Además, es super relajada, no necesita de gran concentración para entenderla, la referencias a la cultura pop y otras series animadas no van a faltar, y es como si cualquier serie tipo Madoka Magica, La Chichas Superpoderoas o Sailor Moon, se hubieran fusionado con RuPaul's Drag Race, y eso es algo que vale totalmente la pena ser visto.
