Do not read if you have not seen the third episode of The Last of Us, this is going to have spoilers.

Sundays now became Sundays to watch The Last of Us, a series that honestly has become one of the best series ever created, although to give a final verdict we would have to wait for the first season to finish airing, and in case you don't know, with only two episodes it was already confirmed that there will be a second season if only Netflix were like that and stopped producing so much crap and revived exquisite projects.

Anyway, I hate zombies, I detest them, I avoid watching anything that has zombies because they don't provoke anything in me, the stories are usually the same, and there is no innovation, so no, I stay away from anything that has zombies, so why did I start watching The Last of Us? For the simple reason that Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey are the main characters, my beautiful and precious daddy, and Bella, who recently openly told the world that she was a non-binary and gender fluid person, something that touched me too much and every time I remember it makes me want to cry. It was only because of those two amazing people that I decided to watch the series, and I can say not only is it one of the best series ever created, but it has become one of my favorites as well, but despite that, I wouldn't play the game, I don't get that kind of games.

Despite never having played the game and practically not knowing what you could expect to see in the series, I already knew that the game had one of the best stories told in gaming existence, I don't know how many awards or nominations it went on to get, but I fully trust a friend who said the series was going to be one of the best you could hope for, but it has the same creator of the game as the creator of the series, and if the story was slightly similar, it could be expected to be one of the best series ever created in the world, and so far that premise is being fulfilled, so I have nothing to complain about.

No leer si no han visto el tercer episodio de The Last of Us, esto va a tener spoilers.

I'm going to talk only about the third episode, as that's the reason I started writing this, which I never usually do, as I prefer to wait until a series is finished airing before I try to review it. I had already read that the third episode was going to be about Bill and Frank, plus they were going to change their story drastically, which still meant nothing to me as I didn't know what their story was in the game, so it was a total surprise to me everything that happened in their story in the series. Seeing Bill prepare everything for his stay alone in a zombie-infested world was something I didn't pay much attention to, I was lost in my mind during those moments, but the moment I saw Murray Bartlett appear as Frank I went into crisis, my happiness was too much, but also my sadness, I knew that what awaited me in the chapter was going to be a wonder like it had not been created before, but at the same time I had to control myself because I have a cough and flu that are killing me, so no matter everything that happened, I had to keep calm, and I tried, but I couldn't, only today is that I'm better.

While both the game and the series are about zombies and how to survive in a world infested by them, zombies are not the main characters, neither in the series nor in the game, and that's something that many people haven't understood yet. The different ways of survival of humans in a post-apocalyptic world are who star in both creations, only the game so far has more action than the series, and among those different ways to survive we will find more drama than anything else, both in the game and in the series, but there is a problem and that is that most people do not like drama, and almost always do not say anything, they remain silent, or if they complain, it is a complaint without any weight because they know it is a complaint without any weight because they know it is a complaint without any weight, it is a complaint without any weight because they know there is no point in complaining, this is at least as long as the drama is starred by heterosexual people, all good, but the moment a homosexual person stars in that drama comes the time to burn the world because it is something unnatural, unnecessary, that should be avoided above all things, because even though people do not hate homosexuals or the lgbtqia+ community, they do not want to consume any kind of content that represents them worthily.

I've been listening to Linda Ronstadt's Long Long Time on repeat for almost an hour now, a song that has the same name as the third chapter and appears in the chapter itself. Neil Druckmann, the creator of the video game, said that not everything in the game was going to work in the series because then it would become repetitive and boring, and that's not what he wants, so one of the first big changes they made was with the story of Bill and Frank, where they decided to give them a more beautiful story than it will ever be in the game, I won't tell you the story of the game, but I will tell you that in the series they have a love story like any other, full of ups and downs, represented with key moments that make clear the very marked differences in the personalities of Bill and Frank, but that regardless of any of that, they lived the best they could together, loving each other, surviving in a world where it is almost impossible to live.

Many scenes made me lose my sanity in this chapter, if not the whole chapter itself, but despite that, I didn't cry, because then I would have died in a coughing fit choking on phlegm and the impossibility of breathing. This chapter is a masterpiece of storytelling and anyone with even the slightest sense of the art of storytelling knows that and can fully appreciate it. I loved it so much, I loved it so much, that since I couldn't sleep anymore because of the coughing, I decided to rewatch the chapter as soon as I finished watching it on Sunday, and that was horrible, I opened a wound that hadn't even started to heal. Don't do that, don't be as masochistic as me. As I rewatched the chapter I paid attention to a feeling and thought that arose alongside the happiness and suffering when I saw Murray Bartlett. I knew I would enjoy and suffer through this gay story like never before, but I also knew there would be no shortage of people complaining about the episode. The amount of complaints I've seen on social media has been gigantic, and while they still make me feel bad, they don't affect me as much as they would have affected me years ago. At least that's what I thought until I read a comment that said that series of this type should have a warning that a chapter has lgbtqia+ content so that people avoid watching them to avoid having a bad time. That comment completely devastated me and gave me the motivation I needed to write this.

Beyond wishing a life of complete suffering to people who have that kind of thoughts and beliefs, I feel sorry for them, I feel sorry for them because no matter how many insults they say to us, no matter how much hate they feel, the lgbtqia+ community is not going to disappear, we will continue to be everywhere and we will appear in more and more productions, they are literally going to have us in their soup, so they better get used to it, or else go live like hermits in a remote mountain and never have contact with society again, because if they are not going to accept us believing that it will scare us away, it is better for them to disappear like the fossils they are. One of my favorite complaints was that there was almost a gay porn scene because you could see their naked torso while they were in a bed and kissing, I mean, a heterosexual couple does the same thing, even more, explicit things, everywhere, and nobody complains, does a gay couple do it? The end of the world, it's indoctrination, it's porn, death to gays. Sometimes I think those types of people have no common sense at all and have never had a thought of their own in their entire lives.

One of my favorite things I've seen is that just as there are an incredible amount of people complaining about the chapter, there are an even more significant amount of people defending it, enjoying it, and who are trying to educate those who are complaining to be respectable human beings. My favorite defense is where they say that there is no way for people to complain without showing their homophobia because the episode is perfect, the narration is excellent, the story was perfect, plus it demonstrates in the best possible way the plot of the series, so, those who complain are just empty brained people who only love the Fast and the Furious movies for the mindless action they show, and homophobes, there is no other way.

When I recover from coughing I'm going to rewatch the episode to cry everything I couldn't cry. That way I can enjoy watching Bill gets excited like a five-year-old eating a strawberry, fuck, that scene got to me, the couch scene, the wedding, the dinner, the letter, no, I'm about to start crying here and I shouldn't, for the first time in weeks I don't feel so bad and crying will only make me feel physically bad. When I talk about the series as a whole I'm going to fangirl over Bill and Frank properly. Also, season two is going to be pure lesbianism unleashed, so I'm waiting for the moment when the lesbophobes get a brain hemorrhage from the rage it's going to give them.

That window causes me more trauma than zombies.

image.png
