Exploring a unique and beautiful salt range of Pakistan

Aslamoalekum and hello to my @pinmapple community I hope you are all doing well. I am also doing pretty well. Today in this post I will take you to one of the beautiful mountains of Pakistan. I will show you a glimpse of the pink and white salt that we are getting from these mountains.

people say that exploring and travelling is as essential for a person as food and oxygen are. Whenever I feel depressed or fed up with the daily routine of life, I set out to visit the beautiful regions around me. A few days ago, I asked my cousin Surat Khan if he would like to join me on a trip to the pink salt mines. As usual, his answer was yes. He said that he had been wanting to go on an outing somewhere. We both decided to dedicate the weekend to this trip and as soon as the weekend arrived, we set off towards our destination.

لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ سیر و سیاحت انسان کے لیے اتنی ضروری ہے جتنی کہ اس کے لیے خوراک اور آکسیجن ضروری ہیں۔ جب بھی میں اداس ہوتا ہوں یا روزمرہ کی زندگی سے تنگ آتا ہوں تو میں اپنے خوبصورت علاقوں کی سیر کے لیے نکل جاتا ہوں۔ چند روز پہلے میں نے اپنے کزن صورت خان سے پوچھا کہ کیا وہ میرے ساتھ پنک سالٹ مائنز کی سیر کے لیے چلنا پسند کرے گا؟ جیسا کہ معمول تھا، اس کا جواب ہاں میں تھا۔ اس نے کہا کہ وہ خود بھی کہیں باہر جانے کی خواہش رکھتا تھا۔ ہم دونوں نے اس سفر کے لیے ویک اینڈ کا دن مختص کیا اور جیسے ہی ویک اینڈ آیا، ہم اپنی منزل کی طرف روانہ ہو گئے۔

Allah has blessed Pakistan with abundant natural resources, and it is the only country that exports pink salt to various nations around the world. We set off from our home on a bike towards the pink salt range of Mari Indus. After approximately an hour’s journey, we reached Mari Indus. Mari Indus is a beautiful town in the district of Mianwali, located in the province of Punjab, Pakistan. Surrounded by valleys and mountains, this picturesque town holds special significance for tourism and sightseeing.

اللہ نے پاکستان کو قدرتی وسائل سے مالا مال کیا ہے، اور یہ دنیا کا واحد ملک ہے جو مختلف ممالک کو گلابی نمک برآمد کرتا ہے۔ ہم اپنے گھر سے بائیک پر ماری انڈس کی گلابی نمک کی پہاڑیوں کی طرف روانہ ہوئے۔ تقریباً ایک گھنٹے کے سفر کے بعد ہم ماری انڈس پہنچ گئے۔ ماری انڈس پاکستان کے صوبہ پنجاب کے ضلع میانوالی میں ایک خوبصورت قصبہ ہے۔ پہاڑوں اور وادیوں سے گھرا یہ خوبصورت قصبہ سیاحت اور سیر و تفریح کے لیے خاص اہمیت رکھتا ہے۔

When we reached the charming mountains of the Indus, it was almost 11 o’clock in the day. There, workers were separating pink salt and white salt from the rocks. They were very happy to see us. I requested a worker to take a picture of me and my cousin together, and he readily agreed and took some excellent pictures of us. We spent quite some time there with the workers and gathered information about the pink and white salt. They said that for a long time, pink and white salt have been extracted from here and this salt is not only distributed to various cities in Pakistan but is also exported to many countries outside Pakistan. When I saw the white salt from a distance, it felt as if pieces of ice were scattered on the ground. Where we stood by the side of the road, there were mountains on both sides from where the pink and white salt was being mined.

جب ہم انڈس کے دلکش پہاڑیوں تک پہنچے تو دن کے تقریباً گیارہ بجے تھے۔ وہاں، مزدور پتھروں سے گلابی نمک اور سفید نمک کو الگ کر رہے تھے۔ وہ ہمیں دیکھ کر بہت خوش ہوئے۔ میں نے ایک مزدور سے درخواست کی کہ وہ میری اور میرے کزن کی اکٹھی تصویر بنائے، اور اس نے فوراً مانی اور ہماری بہترین تصاویر بنائیں۔ ہم نے وہاں مزدوروں کے ساتھ کافی وقت گزارا اور گلابی اور سفید نمک کے بارے میں معلومات جمع کیں۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ طویل عرصے سے یہاں سے گلابی اور سفید نمک نکالا جا رہا ہے اور یہ نمک نہ صرف پاکستان کے مختلف شہروں میں تقسیم کیا جاتا ہے بلکہ پاکستان سے باہر بھی کئی ممالک کو برآمد کیا جاتا ہے۔ جب میں نے دور سے سفید نمک دیکھا تو ایسا محسوس ہوا جیسے زمین پر برف کے ٹکڑے بکھرے پڑے ہوں۔ جہاں ہم سڑک کے کنارے کھڑے تھے، وہاں ہماری دونوں طرف پہاڑ تھے جہاں سے گلابی اور سفید نمک نکالا جا رہا تھا۔

My cousin and I spent a considerable amount of time touring the mountains of Mari Indus. The mountainous region of Mari Indus is one of the charming mountainous areas of Pakistan. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves there. It was a memorable trip in my life. We didn’t want to leave this beautiful place, but we had to return home. So, we mounted our bikes and set off for home.
