Esta semana hemos llegado casi a la conclusión de una edición más de la Champions League con par de partidos que han dado algo de que hablar, uno que más otro, pero ambos con algo en común y es que un club fue ampliamente superior al otro en estos partidos de vuelta. Manchester City vs Inter de Milán, una final que estoy seguro nadie se esperaba ni imaginaba será la encargada de darle vida al Estadio Olímpico Atatürk en Estambul el próximo 10 de junio. Dos equipos que hay que decir que fueron sumamente superiores en todos los aspectos a sus rivales en esta eliminatoria de semifinal y que gracias a ello llegan uno busca llevarse "la orejona" por primera vez y el otro quiere ser un tetracampeón.

This week we have almost reached the conclusion of another edition of the Champions League with a couple of matches that have given something to talk about, one more than the other, but both with something in common and that is that one club was vastly superior to the other in these second leg matches. Pero hoy, en gran parte de la reflexión del día, quiero hablar de lo vivido ayer en Inglaterra. Quizás algunos lo veían venir, otros no tanto pero la realidad es que lo que sucedió ayer en el Etihad, para este humilde servidor, fue un escandalo mayúsculo. La ida había sido un poco bastante más pareja con un Madrid apretando cuando quería y un City cómodo con el empate pero la vuelta fue otra historia, el City que salió a matar desde el minuto uno a un Madrid que nunca tuvo reacción y que se vio diezmado y atropellado por el juego táctico de Guardiola y la magia de sus jugadores en cancha. Muy personalmente tenía tiempo que no veía una actuacion tan pobre del Real Madrid en Champions y una tan espectacular como la del Manchester; fue un partido de contrastes.

Bien como dice el titulo de esta publicación el estadio y casa del Manchester City la noche de ayer prendió sus luces para ser testigo de uno de los bailes más prominentes que se ha visto en Europa y en Champions en los últimos tiempos. No quiero sonar peyorativo ni muchos menos porque el Real Madrid es catorce veces campeón de esta competición y merece respeto pero hasta los mismos jugadores blancos estuvieron de acuerdo que lo visto ayer fue lamentable, cosa que denota humildad y responsabilidad por lo que hay que aplaudirlos. Pero es eso, el equipo merengue no existió en cancha, puede que haya sido el dibujo táctico de Ancelotti el que le haya pasado factura al querer jugar con Camavinga de lateral izquierdo y sin Rudiger en cancha o que sencillamente el City fue una maquina bien engranada que sin importar el parado en cancha les iba a pasar por encima de igual forma.

Después de ese gol hubo par de cosas que llamaron mi atención: el desespero de Vinicius hablando con su técnico y que por menos de cinco minutos el Madrid reaccionó ligeramente con un poste de Toni Kroos y algo de tenencia del balón, pensaba que podría haber una reacción pero no, todo quedó en una ilusión.

Tres minutos después de esa "reacción" llegaría el segundo en los botines de Bernardo nuevamente. Ya a estas alturas yo diría que el Madrid estaba KO aún sabiendo lo que son capaces de hacer en los minutos finales. Camavinga no tuvo vida en ese lateral, la pasó muy mal y es que es sabido que no es su posición natural, se le vio perdido, dejaba marcas tiradas, hacía movimientos erráticos, etc. El otro que también se vio anulado por completo es Vini Jr en manos de uno de los defensores más duros con los que te puedes topar, Kyle Walker. El brasileño fue un fantasma en cancha, nunca fue relevante ni desbordó como lo suele hacer, no generó peligro ni fue determinante y esto es un gran merito para toda la defensa del City pero en especial para Walker.

Tuvieron dos tiros al arco no más, el disparo de Kroos y un tiro libre de Alaba que realmente fue espectacular, nada originado por una jugada a ras de suelo. El tercer gol sería un autogol de Militao, como para dejar claro la terrible noche de los merengues y el cuarto en tiempo de descuento de Julián Álvarez gracias a otra bonita jugada de Foden para encontrar al argentino y que este pusiera la guinda del pastel. Una noche que hay que enmarcar como de las mejores que ha tenido Guardiola, te puede caer mal el catalán pero es un genio, es un tipo que todavía está reescribiendo el futbol.

Al final este Manchester se verá las caras contra un Inter que también fue un rival avasallante ante el Mílan. El tema acá es que creo que para mi el Inter tiene mucha más plantilla que los rossoneros y eso se vio en cancha en ambos partidos. En la vuelta del martes se vio como los de Inzaghi controlaron mejor el juego, no se preocuparon tanto por tener el balón ni generar mucho porque el marcador lo tenían a favor y esto lo que originó es que el rival tuviera más el esférico y la posesión pero fue una estéril totalmente ya que nunca fueron capaces de generar nada de contundencia, un par de llegadas de Leao pero hasta ahí. El 1-0 llegaría faltando 15 para el final en las botas de Lautaro Martínez por medio de un pase de fantasía de Lukaku. La verdad no fue un partido emocionante, de hecho la eliminatoria en general fue bastante insípida.

Yo reconozco que había dicho que el Madrid pasaba por aquello de la historia y porque en estos partidos los merengues se crecen de una forma inexplicable pero ayer no fue el caso. Si el City juega de la misma forma como le jugó a los blancos no se yo si el Inter tendrá oportunidad. Hay mucho nivel en el equipo de Manchester, demasiado diría yo y con triplete entre ceja y ceja creo que los favoritos para llevarse la Champions son los ciudadanos. Pero bueno, cualquier cosa puede pasar y el Inter puede dar la sorpresa porque si, creo que si los italianos ganan sería una gran e inesperada sorpresa.

I admit that I had said that Madrid would go through because of history and because in these games the Merengues grow in an inexplicable way but yesterday it was not the case. If City play the same way as they did against Los Blancos I don't know if Inter will have a chance. There is a lot of level in the Manchester team, too much I would say and with the treble between the eyebrows I think the favorites to win the Champions League are the citizens. Todos preveíamos una final entre Madrid y Milan por un tema de historia, pero la Champions nos da estas cosas y nos trae una final inédita que a priori tiene un candidato muy marcado, pero aun pendiente de jugarse esa final, cualquier cosa puede pasar.

Lo de ayer en Etihad quedara en los libros de historia, por el porque y los como, Guardiola y los suyos se cenaron a los merengues y dejaron al descubierto todas esas falencias que en algún momento se vieron pero que se lograban tapar con triunfos in extremis.

El peso ahora lo tienen los skyblues, irónico, eliminaron al que mas peso tenia, y ahora el peso recae en ellos.

Así es, la presión y el balón están en la cancha de los del City que están obligados a ganar la Champions después de semejante partido ante el Madrid. Para mi la temporada del Madrid es regular cayendo a mala aunque se hayan llevado 3 títulos creo, pero es por lo que dices, el como terminaron en Liga y en esta Champions.

No veo al Inter hacer gran cosa pero bueno, estos partidos dan muchas sorpresas.
