New year and I think we can say the same about music because as always it is in constant development, it never stops. Getting new tracks and productions that I really like is getting more and more complicated but not for the reason you think, it's because more and more music is being made, more and more artists and that makes, in my opinion, that the content is more disposable, that it goes out of fashion faster and that a few months later it is forgotten. This would have nothing to do since this is a list based on my personal tastes but I also feel that this "quality" may be going down... The thing is that lately I've come across very few songs that I say, "what a great track, awesome", before that was more common. But well, I'd like to think that's not a bad thing, quite the contrary.

- The Weeknd - Nothing Is Lost

Very recently the second Avatar movie was released and with it a series of really good soundtracks, among them is the main theme song by The Weeknd. It is a song a little long if we base it on the standard but it is still very good, it is very solemn and moving, in fact it fits a lot with what the film is. It tells us, as its title says, that all is not lost, that even though we are in a war I will continue defending what I think is right, my people and my world and that my engine is none other than the love I can feel for another person. It is a feisty song because it talks about defending what is ours but all of this based, I repeat, on love. The Weeknd's voice is one that surrounds you because when you listen to the song watching the movie and with all the context of it is where you realize the good work behind it. Good for the soundtraks that recently are giving a lot to talk about because of the goodness of their main songs.

- Rita Wilson, Sebastián Yatra - Til You're Home

We continue with soundtracks and I swear this is totally unexpected but as you are coming out songs so are coming out movies. "A Man Called Otto" is a film that stars Tom Hanks and basically he is a super bitter and lonely guy. I say this so that you understand a little bit of the context of the song which tells us about how this man loves and misses in silence but whose feelings he doesn't show. The song is incredible because it's like a very heartfelt and simple ballad, with a bass and a violin it's practically enough to transmit everything the song achieves. I'm more and more surprised by Yatra's reach and how far he's going, I'm not a big fan of him singing in English but the song is so delicate that I can get through it. The goal of the song for me is simple, is to fill you with nostalgia for the absence of someone you hope to see at some point in life and honestly it achieves its goal without any difficulty. I didn't know that Rita, Tom's wife, sang this well and that Sebastián Yatra was quite decent at a genre he is used to but in Spanish. Very nice song.

- Måneskin - THE LONELIEST

This song is a work of art and its video is even more so. Maneskin, this band that went viral thanks to the social networks with the song "Beggin" is now one of the best sounding and best audiovisual works and the proof is this great video. This song hurts and extremely deep as it speaks of things that no one likes but that are part of life itself, the grief and pain of losing a loved one. But it is also a sign that in those moments it is important to have people who care and who are willing to stay with us even in the darkest moments. Part of the song more or less says that that next night will be the loneliest of all and it may be so but always keeping in mind that there will be helping hands nearby to support you. One of the best songs I've heard in the last few weeks because of the immense emotional charge it has and how what we see helps to make that message more powerful, I think the video does half the job; these four Italians are really good. Give this track a listen and if you have sadly gone through the loss of a loved one it might mean a little more.

As you can see the list is short, there are always five songs in my top but this time I wanted to do three because of what I said before, I didn't find two other songs that caught my attention. We'll see if next month the trend changes. For the moment I hope you enjoy these three great, good and heartfelt songs, one better than the other it must be said.
