(ESP-ENG) The Devil's Hour, la vida es un Déjà vu? // The Devil's Hour, life is Déjà vu?
Hello friends, good vibes to all.
It had been a while since I left Netflix content and I think the choice to do so was quite interesting. This time we move to Amazon Prime with a series that the truth may leave a little unsettled to all those who decide to watch it and this is basically because the premise of it besides being very particular is one which instead of generating answers as the plot progresses what ends up creating more doubts and questions what the bewilderment can become total. I understand that among the people who have already seen this series the acceptance was very good to the point that they consider it a success, I do not know if it is so but it did not leave me indifferent.
Undoubtedly it is one of those thrillers that generate a lot of curiosity, one of those that has not finished a chapter and you already want to start watching the next one because the story is made for that, so that the viewer does not stay quiet until you solve what is really happening with these people. You may confuse it with something related to horror and the truth is not so, I tell you, I think it is more aimed at intrigue, suspense and drama that can not miss. The thing is that seeing the way this miniseries is presented to us, each episode, each scene and even the title of it, you might think that there is a paranormal theme behind it, maybe there is but maybe not, at the end you will realize that, that's the most I can say. So let's talk about this uncomfortable and disturbing story.
This plot begins with Lucy Chambers (Jessica Reine) a mother and working woman to whom something happens that she can not explain and that is that every night she wakes up at 3:33 in the morning due to nightmares and dreams a little strange and disconcerting. Not having answers for that she decides to live her life as normal as possible, she feels she can't do anything to change that, so it's something she has learned to live with. But in addition to these episodes there is something else that may also take her sleep away but she tries not to recognize it, in this case I'm talking about her son, Isaac (Benjamin Chivers), who to say the least is a very peculiar and curious child.
Isaac is a person who does not show any kind of emotion, he does not cry, does not smile, does not get upset, nothing, absolutely nothing, in general terms he is someone logically introverted and quiet, even Lucy has seen him talking to empty chairs and walls. But she has also occasionally witnessed and picked up strange things in the house where they live, sounds and shadows that most of the time and like everything that happens to her, she can't explain it either. When the whole plot changes radically? - At the moment when some murders are being investigated and Lucy's name comes out of nowhere. I know it all seems a bit confusing, even when we are watching the series we think so, but little by little everything starts to fit together and the answers begin to emerge.
As I mentioned at the beginning, this series is a roller coaster of emotions, those that Isaac does not have, because it is frustrating not to understand what is happening despite the hundreds of theories that one can make in your mind. I say this because from the beginning we are sold the idea that something strange is happening, that something is not right, the detail is that the nature of these events is not at all clear because it can be literally anything, from the paranormal to time travel, that's how wide is the spectrum that manages this miniseries. It is because of all this that it is a story that does not bore or tire at any time, I doubt that while you are watching it you will have the opportunity to look at your cell phone or check the time, the plot will not allow you to do so because even the dialogues are key to understand the great puzzle that represents this plot.
But not everything is focused on the mystical and inexplicable, there is also a police and detective part that gives a more interesting touch to this thriller, in fact this is very important for the development of the plot because it will help us to find some of the pieces. This is because of some serial murders that are occurring and that inexplicably involve Lucy being her along with detective Ravi Dhillon (Nikesh Patel) in charge of solving these cases that in principle do not make any kind of sense. So, what do we have so far? - Murders, nightmares and confusing dreams and people seeing things that aren't there, all under the watchful eye of Lucy who wakes up at 3:33, the time of the devil, and a child who doesn't engender any confidence.
And the last particularity I want to bring is the way the story is told. It has two timelines, the first one is in the future where they already know who is the person behind everything and the other one is the present that narrates how they got to that person. In the future, this man is narrating what really happens but without leaving clues so that the other timeline is not damaged and we the viewers do not fall into "spoilers" while in the present all the events carried out by this same man are happening until finally and after an incredible journey they find him. I clarify that this is not a spoiler on my part, it is the way in which this series is put together and you will realize that just in the first chapter. Although this happens, believe me, it does not take away any emotion, the plot is very well elaborated so that the interest is not lost.
The characters are correct, Lucy is a person who is looking for an answer to what her son is going through and who will never give up because a mother's love is greater than everything. Jessica plays a very good role full of anguish and drama, you can see in many scenes the quality interpretation she can be. On the other hand Benjamin who plays Isaac is another one that left me very convinced even though he is a child. The character is extremely uncomfortable and rare to see, he is someone indecipherable that you don't know how he can act and that's the real hook, the unpredictability within the robotic that is his personality. The two of them are the center of the story and the ones who deserve the attention. The rest is filler but also key to the functioning of the series.
Life is Déjà vu? - Well, this is one of the things that one wonders when watching this story and the ones we keep asking ourselves once we finish watching it. In general I really liked this story, it is something very new and that I had not seen for a long time, it may seem confusing but in reality it is not, as everything becomes clearer we understand what is really happening. I give it an 8/10 because it has suspense, drama, confusion, it's a full-fledged thriller, it hooks you and the story is very original. The ending is very good and it was a perfect ending for a very particular plot. It is on Amazon Prime and consists of 6 episodes of one hour each. I leave the trailer for you to take a look.
¡Un abrazo a todos, nos vemos en la próxima!
Well my people that's all for today, I hope you liked it.

The series has its own thing, it surprised me because it has not been so well known and yet it is of a very good quality.
Thanks for the visit, greetings my friend!
Saludos!!
