Vampire stories have been told hundreds of times, some better than others, but in the end most of them are very interesting and entertaining to watch. I'm always on the hunt for this kind of movies because no matter how old they are, in this case 23 years, the plots are always going to surprise and because I'm sure we'll be in front of the screen enjoying even knowing what the plot is about. Castlevania, Hellsing Ultimate, Blood-C, among others, are some of the titles that can be enjoyed and are really good but I tell you that this movie is one of the best I've seen for a theme of animation, aesthetics and even the plot is somewhat different from what is already known.

Las historias de vampiros han sido contadas cientos de veces, unas mejores que otras, pero al final la mayoría son muy interesantes y entretenidas de ver. Siempre ando a la caza de este tipo de películas porque sin importar que tanto tiempo tengan, en este caso 23 años, las tramas siempre van a sorprender y porque estoy seguro de que estaremos frente a la pantalla disfrutando aún sabiendo de qué va va la trama. Castlevania, Hellsing Ultimate, Blood-C, entre otros, son algunos de los títulos que se pueden disfrutar y que son realmente buenos pero les digo que esta película es de las mejores que he visto por un tema de animación, estética y hasta la trama es un tanto diferente a lo ya conocido.

This story is about D, a powerful and renowned Dhampir who has been called and hired to find a young human girl, Charlotte, who has been kidnapped by Meier Link, an authentic vampire of much renown that of the few things known about him is that he does not bite humans unnecessarily. Who is behind this hiring is Charlotte's father himself, who is worried about his daughter's life and asks D for a couple of things: to rescue her if possible and in case she has been turned into a vampire to kill her without further suffering since having a vampire daughter is not something that is in his plans, no matter how much it hurts him.

Esta historia trata de D, un poderoso y reconocido Dhampir que ha sido llamado y contratado para encontrar a una joven humana, Charlotte, que ha sido secuestrada por Meier Link, un vampiro auténtico de mucho renombre que de las pocas cosas que se sabe de él es que no muerde de forma innecesaria a los humanos. Quién está detrás de esta contratación es el mismo padre de Charlotte, que preocupado por la vida de su hija le pide par de cosas a D: que la rescate si es posible y en caso de que haya sido convertida en vampiro que la mate sin mayor sufrimiento ya que tener una hija vampiro no es algo que está en sus planes por más que le duela.

It is then when the plot begins, a journey that will be full of combat, mystery, terror and although it seems unlikely we will also witness a somewhat interesting love story. Very honestly I have to say that I did not expect the quality of this movie, it was one that caught me from the beginning with its very refined and classic style worthy of that era of the early 2000s.

Sabiendo su misión D se embarca en ella, el tema es que no es el único que está detrás de la joven Charlotte, existe otro grupo de cazadores, un poco más amateurs pero efectivos, quienes pretenden conseguir dicho trabajo, les hablo de los hermanos Markus, unos tipos bastante particulares. Es entonces cuando da comienzo a la trama, un viaje que estará lleno de combates, misterio, terror y aunque parezca improbable también seremos testigos de una historia de amor un tanto interesante. Muy honestamente tengo que decir que no esperaba la calidad de esta película, fue una que me atrapó desde el principio con su estilo muy refinado y clásico dignos de aquella época de comienzo de los 2000.

The first thing to mention is the animation, one of the top things that the film has, it is impressive how fluid and stylized everything is, the way they move, the features in the characters, the colors; things as simple as water, wind, fire, dust/smoke, everything is appreciated quite well. Besides that, the people and their expressions are also well done. It's a very high point these elements, just for this alone it's worth giving it a chance. I think it's crazy that these works are of higher quality than the ones made in these times, I think it's that vintage style what gives it the touch but yes, very top.

Lo primero a mencionar es la animación, de las cosas más top que tiene la película, es impresionante la fluidez y lo estilizado que es todo, los forma en la que se mueven, los rasgos en los personajes, los colores; cosas tan simples como el agua, el viento, el fuego, el polvo/humo, todo se aprecia bastante bien. Además de que las personas y sus expresiones también están bien logradas. Es un punto muy alto estos elementos, solo por esto vale mucho la pena darle una oportunidad. Me parece una locura que estos trabajos sean de más calidad que los hechos en estos tiempos, creo que es ese estilo vintage lo que le da el toque pero si, muy top.

The plot, despite having things we have already seen in the past, is still entertaining. It is a mix between the supernatural, horror and as I had already mentioned, a love drama that peeks through. This is normal, vampires can become very sentimental if they want to and this time we see that, we will see how one of these characters represses his natural impulses just for the fact of not hurting or not wanting a worse fate for the other person. This duality between the action, the chase and wanting to overcome obstacles just to be together forever is something that gives the film some depth, it makes one more hooked.

La trama a pesar de tener cosas que ya hemos visto en el pasado no deja de ser entretenida. Es una mezcla entre lo sobrenatural, terror y como ya les había comentado un drama amoroso que se asoma por allí. Esto es normal, los vampiros pueden llegar a ser muy sentimentales si se lo proponen y en esta ocasión si vemos eso, veremos como uno de estos personajes reprime sus impulsos naturales solo por el hecho de no hacer daño o no querer un peor destino para la otra persona. Esta dualidad entre la acción, la persecución y el querer superar obstáculos solo para estar juntos para siempre es algo que le da cierta profundidad a la película, hace que uno se enganche más.

The characters are all very cool because they are all very peculiar. The group of hunters was a hit, they are like a family and although they are quite lethal they are still a bit clumsy in their actions or at least they are not as deadly as D so that competition to see who kills or gets there first is fun to watch. One member of this team, Leila, is one of those you have to keep track of. We will also see other creatures that increase this universe, the Barbarois, mercenaries that will give more life to the plot.

Los personajes son muy cool todos porque todos son muy peculiares. El grupo de cazadores fue un acierto, son como una familia y aunque son bastante letales no dejan de ser un poco torpes en su accionar o por lo menos no son tan mortíferos como D por lo que esa competencia por ver quien mata o llega primero es entretenida de ver. Un miembro de este equipo, Leila, es de esas a las que tienen que seguirle la huella. También veremos otras criaturas que lo que hacen es aumentar este universo, los Barbarois, unos mercenarios que le darán más vida a la trama.

I don't talk about D because I guess you can imagine what he's like. A totally cold guy who only goes with his eyes set on his mission, there's nothing or no one to keep him from that. The ending of the movie was good, there is a scene that I didn't expect them to do and they included it, it was a very cool detail of something that was talked about in the middle of the plot, something very introspective. I give it an 8.5/10, it's a very good vampire movie, if you like the genre watch it because it's really worth it. It's an hour 45 minutes long but it's enjoyable without any problems. Imagine one of those classic Dracula movies but adapted to anime, is the best comparison I can give you. I leave you the trailer so you can take a look at it.

No hablo de D porque supongo que ya se imaginarán como es él. Un tipo totalmente frío que solo va con la mirada puesta en su misión, no hay nada ni nadie que lo aparte de eso. El final de la película estuvo bueno, hay una escena que no esperé que la hicieran y la incluyeron, fue un detalle muy cool de algo que se habló en el medio de la trama, algo muy introspectivo. Le doy un 8.5/10, es una muy buena película de vampiros, si les gusta el género veanla porque la verdad vale mucho la pena. Tiene una duración de una hora 45 minutos pero se disfruta sin problemas. Imaginen una de esas películas clásicas de Drácula pero adaptadas al anime, es la mejor comparación que les puedo dar. Les dejo el tráiler para que le echen un ojo.

La vi hace unos cuantos meses con mis hijos, la disfrutamos realmente. Me alegra mucho que resaltes la animación, de no haberlo hecho te lo habría comentado por acá ya que es top sin duda.

Concuerdo perfectamente que su animación es mucho mejor que la que vemos hoy en día, y me atrevo a decir que no solo eso, la historia que se desarrolla en esta película es espectacular.

The thing about this animation is that it's very classic and very eye-catching, it's kind of vintage and it's very eye-catching. Animations like Kimetsu's are great, they are brutal but this one has that special vintage touch that makes it very top.

Hmmm, interesting plot... For me, it is always entertaining to watch vampire genre stories (Vanitas, Noblesse, Blood Blockade Battlefront). I'm looking forward to watch this movie!

Oh seems interesting. I'm not so into vampire animes but from the way you story tell this, it makes me want to give it a try.
I'm more surprised to see this has been released on the 2000s..? The animation looks like JoJo but dark and not so vivid.

The lighting is another factor as you say, that dark touch makes it special too. It looks great in spite of that because it's kind of spooky and mysterious. It's very cool, I highly recommend it even if you don't liked!

Just a few days ago I found a reel about this anime on Instagram and it truly caught my attention because of the animation, I think it looks so amazing. But I had no clue about what was the plot about, thanks to your post I think I'm gonna like it even more haha. I just love vampire stories.
