Después de más de un mes de espera por el parón invernal finalmente esta semana vuelve la Champions League con su formato el cual está haciendo que muchos nos cueste acostumbrarnos todavía. En esta jornada no juegan todos los equipos pero de igual forma tendremos por lo menos unos 4 partidos que pueden generar cierto interés dada la situación de los clubes en cuestión. No creo que se un mal formato solo que es un tanto extraño, generalmente a las personas les cuesta adaptarse a los cambios; creo que puede llegar a ser más vistoso por la variedad de partidos que se pueden dar, la idea de un todos contra todos siempre me va a gustar más que la división de grupos que puede ser que todo sea un tanto más monótono.

Si que es verdad que los culés en Champions van muy cómodos con 15 puntos habiendo ganado sus últimos 5 partidos pero en la Liga es otra historia, de los últimos 5 han ganado solo 1. Es una inconsistencia inentendible la de los dirigidos por Flick. Este fin de semana empataron contra el Getafe, club que va de decimosexto y que siempre ha sido incómodo para los catalanes. De no ser por es gran camino que están haciendo en Europa creo que los focos rojos pudieran estar medio prendidos a pesar de que si, ganaron la Supercopa y su juego sea absurdamente eficaz. Lo de mañana no será fácil porque el Benfica siempre da guerra. Ellos van de segundos a tres puntos del líder, Porto.

El otro partido bastante interesante es el Atlético Madrid contra el Leverkusen. Es un partido extremadamente parejo porque por un lado tenemos a los del Cholo que hasta este fin de semana eran líderes de La Liga, cayeron al segundo puesto tras caer contra el Leganés, una derrota inexplicable y que Champions van de 11 con 12 puntos de 18 posibles mientras que por el lado alemán los del Bayer Leverkusen van de cuartos en Champions con 13 puntos y en la Bundesliga de segundos también a tres del liderato. El tema con este formato de Champions es que si, las posiciones se ven que están muy alejadas una de las otras pero la diferencia de puntos es mínima y el ejemplo claro es lo que pasa acá. La cosa acá es que perder es muy duro porque te hace caer mucho en la tabla así que el Atlético deberá de salir a buscar el partido.

El City de Guardiola pareciera que últimamente ha comenzado a tomar vuelo después de un arranque de temporada bastante dudoso, en especial después de la lesión de Rodri. Se hablaba de un fin de proyecto, la plantilla se agotó, Pep ya no encajaba en el equipo y de la noche a la mañana comenzaron a tener resultados positivos al punto de que en los últimos 5 encuentros no han perdido ni uno ganando 6-0 este fin de semana y escalando a la cuarta plaza de la Premier. Pero, ¿y en champions? - ahí está el detalle.

Los franceses por otra parte en la Ligue 1 van sólidos en la primera plaza con una ventaja de 9 unidades. A nivel doméstico no hay problema, la cosa se complica a nivel continental. Actualmente el PSG está fuera de la siguiente ronda con apenas 7 puntos, de ahí la vital importancia de este partido para ambos; es prácticamente una final por la supervivencia considerando que queda solo una jornada más. Me parece alucinante los problemas que siempre tienen los parisinos en Champions, un equipo que en una época estaba formado para ganar la Champions ahora busca rasguñar puntos para con lo justo clasificar a los playoff y entrar a los octavos.

Siempre he pensado que hay equipos ligueros y coperos, de ahí a las grandes diferencias que podemos ver con algunos clubes en relación a la Champions y sus respectivas ligas. No culpes el juego, culpa al jugador. Muchos hablan de que este formato ha sacado las carencias de muchos equipos y que es su culpa el fracaso de algunos, cero de acuerdo con eso. Vean al Liverpool comandando ambas competiciones porque sabe a lo que juega, el mismo Arsenal, Leverkusen; todos clubes muy confiables que muestran consistencia en la cancha. Y no nombro al Barcelona porque no está fino, y no de ahora, ya eso viene de unos cuantos meses atrás. Así que bueno, veremos como va cerrando esta fase de Champions.

I have always thought that there are league teams and cup teams, hence the big differences that we can see with some clubs in relation to the Champions League and their respective leagues. Esperando ver estos nuevos enfrentamiento en la Champions, sobre todo el partido del Real Madrid para ver cómo funciona el equipo. En el último partido funcionaron bastante bien, jugaron increíble pero también es cierto que hay que tener presente el rival.

Veremos qué pasa en esta nueva facha de la champions.

Bueno ganaron 5-1 en un partido que pareció bastante cómodo. Siempre he dicho que el Real Madrid es un equipo muy copero, la Champions se le da sorprendentemente bien a pesar de que no siempre muestre un juego como se quisiera. Fue un abuena jornada, partidos muy interesantes.
