Yeah That's true their is some serious tag abuse, I think we have all been guilty of it at some point especially in the early days, but others just constantly do it. I tend to use those tags that are relevant to my posts now and try to curate posts of those I engage with and who's content I enjoy reading in the communities I use daily, I think that helps to add value

Nah, I have never been guilty of tag abuse. I have been here almost 5 years, posting daily, and never used any tag except things seen/discussed in my post. Psychology, cannabis, garden, food, analysis, cryptocurrency, hive, and so on. I also tag canna-curate/weedcash, deepdives, and leofinance when I post from those platforms. Never any junk catch-call spam tags like ocd, which have NOTHING to do with ocd (obsessive compulsive disorder) and are merely just popular all-purpose tags that people post in, hoping to catch a big upvote from their curators. That removes value from all of us who use this blockchain and I will not participate. I do not curate posts with those spam tags.
I don't mean we might have done it intentionally, but I personally have certainly had learning curves in the beginning when I used incorrect tags and it's good to have someone point this out in a non aggressive manner.
TBH I have never seen you ever use an inappropriate tag, but my point was as new users we sometimes use them incorrectly, which I guess isn't actually abuse, but there is some that knowingly abuse tags continuously.
When I did this incorrectly in the past, it was with the attempt of gaining more views rather than milking rewards, as the rewards are secondary for me anyway.
Yeah I do or rather did, use some general purpose tags, but more so to promote a community or initiative of a new token purpose, but as the POB, VYB and CineTV are the main front ends I produce content for I will be sticking to those tags moving forward, there are however some general catch tags that where created for this purpose, which isn't always a good thing as you have correctly stated any junk catch call spam tags, I like that definition.
But I am hopeful that all the recent discussions in communities will bring about a method of community consensus that will address these issues.
Some of the tag abuse is to harvest automatic votes on some tags.
If automatic votes went away, so would the tag abuse.
Thats a very good point
