Monochrome Monday - A love of old things

Happy Monday! Here are my #MonochromeMonday pictures. I took these the day before yesterday in a tiny Minnesota town that lies between cornfields and lakes. I came across this old car and just loved its weather-polished ancientness.

There was also an old canon and a wagon wheel trailer used as a planter.

These are really cool. I love antique farm equipment and automobiles.

The old things, but above all the ancient things that have been abandoned, awaken in me a kind of restless longing. I inevitably wonder why anyone would leave aside something that was certainly valuable at the time. Would the one who cared die? Have the heirs left, forgetting their past lives and the possessions that tied them to that place? Above all, what could have been really valuable materially and is in ruins (houses, for example) communicate to me that feeling (orphanhood?) and also the incredible beauty that oblivion gives them.
Beautiful (some disquieting) pictures, @jayna.
