His siren

"You promised!!" Pause. "You said you wouldn't leave me; you said we would be together; why are you doing this to me your majesty?" I said. Choked in my own fear, I have lived for millions of years and never have I experienced such fear, one that makes you so helpless and all you can do is cry pathetically.

The sooty darkness covered so much that I could barely see. I want him to look at me at least once. I will do anything for him to just look at me.

"Valdora." His name left my tongue. It felt like the first time I tasted his name once again. "Please_"

"Enough!" His smooth voice held no room for argument. He has never raised his voice at me, even when I did the most sinful and absurd things. He could never scold me because he loved me. So why now? Why?.

"Leave this place; I have sin before the seven gods and whatever punishment they see fit to give to me. I will accept with gratitude." My king said, but not once did he turn to look at me while he spoke.

"But. You. Promised." I gritted my teeth, letting each word out with all the pain and anger incubated inside of me.

"And I have fulfilled every vow I own. Now go, live your life; if not for yourself, live for me."

"Young dragon." A voice that echoes like thunder and lightning called out to Valdora.
"You have sin before gods and dragons, bringing into the temple of dragons a siren, a forbidden being, and you dare sin with it, sharing your life source with a siren rather than your kind; your punishment has been decided. Move into the abyss of the past, where you will relive all your pains for eternity." The seven gods had decided his fate.

"No!!! Let me share in his burdens and pains. I was the reason he sinned, so let me. I want to be with him as long as I live." I cried so hard as I held onto his majesty's robes begging pathetically on my knees for mercy.

"I accept my punishment." And that was the last time I heard Valdora's voice or saw him again.

I woke up reincarnated into a human's body, a weak human. Her body could not contain my divine powers, so her body grew weaker with each passing day. I woke up in this body with memories of his majesty and the dragon pendant he gave me. My name was Tatar instead of my original name, Liasha. I was identified as a cursed being. I didn't blame them because I was cursed; if only I had never fallen for the dragon king, maybe he would have been alive. I met Valdora in a full blood moon ritual; every blood moon, we sirens came out to mate and eat, and our male sirens were extinct, because they never stayed alive after a mating ritual.

I found Valdora; he was the most gorgeous being I had ever laid eyes on; he had black silk long hair; his skin was slightly tan and covered in royal clothing; his gold-like eyes met mine; and I stared right back at him, totally unashamed. I just knew deep in my veins that I had to mate with him. I have lived for millions of years and never had the urge to mate until I saw this strange man. It took a few decades, but we finally mated, fell in love even, and he was my Valdora, my majesty. Never once did I feel the urge to kill him. But it all came apart too soon—a forbidden reunion, a dragon and siren—it was never heard of, and Valdora was punished for our love dearly.

I barely slept from all the nightmares, but I couldn't complain because this was nothing compared to what Valdora was going through. I was a maid in the palace; I rarely went into the royal chambers. But today I was ordered by the head maid to clean the king's room.

And that's how I saw him in bed with another woman; he looked exactly the same. To sum it all up, he had half the dragon pendant on his neck. When our eyes met for the first time, I knew he felt it, and when he wore that shocking expression on his face looking at my dragon pendant, I knew he felt exactly what I felt.

He looked at me strangely, like he was seeing me for the first time, and that confused me. I knew I couldn't rush into his embrace, the reason being that he might not be my Valdora; he could just be a carbon copy that happens to have gotten that pendant by mistake. My king was still facing his punishment and was yet to be released.

"Who are you?." He looked at me warily.

"I'm the cleaning maid, your highness." I responded quietly, daring not to look at the lady he brought to his bed. I was just a mere maid after all.

"A maid, then why do you have half my dragon pendant? How did you get it? Did you steal it from my chambers?." He had a scowl across his handsome face as he inquired about the pendant.

"It's a gift from my soulmate, my king; he was known back then as Valdora." I said I was daring to meet his eyes this time. He looked skeptical, yet I could see the sense of relief coming off his body.

"Give it to me." And I did, handing him the dragon pendant and watching as he carefully joined the pendant together to force the full dragon. Minutes passed, and it looked like he was hallucinating for just a couple of minutes. His eyes scanned the whole place, like he had just entered a foreign place.

But when he finally looked at me, I knew there and then that my Valdora was back.

"Liasha is that... Is that you, my little siren?" His voice was so smooth and welcoming that I couldn't stop myself from running into his embrace.

"Valdora, my mate." I never knew a dragon could purr; it was so lovely, like he was singing, expressing how much he loved and missed me.

"I have never been more delighted to see you. I thought I would never see you again." I said, watching how she pulled away just to kiss me. His eyes were as gold as they could be as he chuckled happily.

"Yes, you have to be my little siren, because we have a reunion and a wedding to plan. I want to lock souls with you and share everything and anything just with you, my mate." I think I could have passed out from happiness; my cheeks flushed from smiling too much. For the first time in a long time, I felt my divine powers. I had never been more happy and delightful in my entire life, and I plan to be for eternity.

A beautiful story of love and fantasy told so finely and elegantly, it captures in its excellently woven plot between two beings who were condemned to be separated, but in the end they could to be together.

Thanks for sharing.
Good day.

This story is so well crafted that it holds the reader enthralled. Liasha's voice works well. We follow the story line, from the beginning of the siren/dragon romance, to the end, when the two lovers reunite. This is written so very well that it is with reluctance one might suggest a structural flaw: How did the dragon escape his eternal punishment? It's wonderful to see him in the flesh, but how did he get there?

You have a talent for writing. It's a pleasure to read your work.

It is nice to see that they both reunited. Love story like that always feels complete and I am glad they completed theirs.

A siren and a dragon entering a relationship is very imaginative. You've set up an environment in which these types of unions are frowned upon, so my question is whether this will still be accepted or lead to further conflict (given that the dragon has been punished). The premise of the story is very interesting, and I think it could use a more clear explanation of how the attitudes of the dragon society against 'forbidden beings' change as consequence of the actions of the protagonists. This is creative and entertaining tale.
