THE BEST REVENGE
Sometimes we tend to inspire others with our words not realizing that we would have to live afterwards by those same words.
About twelve years ago (2008 precisely), I put these words together in my late teens as freshman in college.
Aside from mama who had to leave and papa who never wanted me to stay I had no other form of rejection.(Well, those two should be more than enough for one should might think)
Little did I know that I would spend the next decade of my life to live by every word in the article you're about reading which I recently stumbled on in my archive.
THE BEST REVENGE
My topic for this article stems from the American slogan:
the best revenge is massive success.
Have you ever been rejected? You went for an interview and you were not selected? Have you done your seeming best and all you get is disappointment? I’ve got an answer to your silent frustrations. You do not need to be resentful or discouraged.
The first thing that you must know is that, failure is not the worst thing in the world. The very worst thing is not to try. You are not a failure, you have made an attempt, and there are millions of people who are wallowing in the pool of complacency and mediocrity. The rejections, the disappointment and failure are all temporary setbacks. Tragedy is a place of passage and not a place of permanence.
You must not take the failure as personal to you. The setback that you had is not peculiar to you alone nor customized to your name. There are many other people that are also going through similar things with you or even situations that if you hear about, you will consider yours to be milder.
At this juncture, I will like to emphasize that you cannot travel the road to success without a porthole or two which give a suggestion of turning before you can have your desires.
Many times, life will knock you down, but you have to stand over and over again. The first time Oscar winning actor, Sylvester Stallone went for auditioning, he was told that his voice was croaked and he was not an Hollywood material, but he went ahead to prove his critics wrong. In fact “the fullness of life is in the hazards of life and at the worst, there is that in us which can turn defeat and failure into victory and success.”
Always remember that the unrest of spirit is a mark of life: One problem after another presents itself and in the solving of them we can find our greatest success.
I am always motivated by the words of Walter Gagehot, which says, “A great pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do”
Oh, you’ve had a series of rejections in your businesses, academics and relationships? Go back again, for the only time you cannot afford to fail is the last time you try. Indeed, massive success is the best revenge.
